hya-
I have seen on 2 other bikes the 2 rubber oblong "cushions" that are at the side of the tank.. just pushed on to the lip and sitting on the frame.. .! 1. anyone got any? 2 ar ethey absolutely needed. I have seen them on three bikes this week - never noticed them before.

If you have tank spacers that lift the tank up then you don't need them as they will not touch the frame!

me no have tank spacers.. u mean the ones that raise the tank if u have a K&N race filter or de snorkelled the thingy
so they shud fit.. do they just stop vibes? and chips. Questy- I will remind u fer sure- I have set my fone to remind me.! .. Pint of water it is ! ![]()

I should have some too, I take them off my tanks since like Billy says they don't touch down. No idea if they do anything or not, I haven't died as a result of removing them, but perhaps I will tomorrow

What kind of super-snot glue do they use to hold them in place?
![]() Took forever to persuade them to let go of the tank when i sprayed it. So i chopped at em with a craft knife in the end. I'd say they are just there to stabilise the tank a little more than relying on the front rubbers alone. |

Yes. They are there to stop vibration from the frame to the tank. I lost one from my CBR once while doing some work and would get some buzzing on left hand turns. Traced it to the rubber not being there and was cured when I replaced it.
But as others have said if the tank is rased then there will not be a problem as the tank shouldn't touch the frame at all. |
