Was it just not looking after it or had you a plan with not changing the oil for 40k? Seems an awful long time to have the same oil in

After writing it off more than once I got lazy and forgot about it. By the time I noticed the state the bike was in it was too far gone so I gave up on it.

I think however Grinch as taken a little more care over his, so it should be good for another 70,000. Looking forward to that post.

So here's a little list of the things she's had done since I got here off Scoob's at 28k in March 2006 after its first little accident.

Replaced foot hanger.
Replaced brake leaver.
Fitted heated grips.
Fitted Scottoiler.
Put on lowered seat.
Longer dog-bones.
ZX636 B1H shock fitted.
Forks dropped 10mm.
V-storm hand-guards fitted.
2 reg/rec's replaced.
1 signal generator replaced.
'Corroded' loom replaced.
2 starter relay's replaced.
1 battery cooked by faulty reg/rec.
Hel brake lines fitted.
Accessory socket fitted.
Right disc replaced due to warping.
2nd Chain and sprocket set.
Replaced clutch basket cover due to warping from first-off.
Second foot peg hanger replaced after off.
Screen replaced after off.
Clutch basket replaced at 60K with a 'repaired' 40ker,
then plates warped and replaced at 69k with a 28ker.

Plus oil replaced at every 4k, oil filter at 8k. I'm only on my second air filter.
Is that Grinch's Helga or Triggers Broom ?

Replaced the engine 4 times.
Used 2 Renegade Carbon cans.
Replaced the left rider and pillion footrest.
Replaced the presumed original fork seals at 60,000 miles.
Replaced the reg/ rec.
Replaced the clutch worm.
Replaced the right switch gear.
Replaced riders seat.
Replaced the clutch leaver 3 times.
Replaced number plate.

The 4 engines where due to oil starvation three times and me not being happy with one. The final engine covered some 40,000 miles without an oil change, on the original plugs, and having never adjusted the valves.

At the end all panels including the petrol tank required replacement.
The brakes needed new pads (presumed originals still in there) and a rebuild/ piston and seals.
Wiring loom was modified and showing signs of wear.
Indicator lense held on with gaffer tape.
Number plate light hadn't worked for 3 years.
Exhaust was mainly rust.
Carbs needed rebuilding.
Front wheel bearing required replacement.
Both wheels showed signs of wear.
Reg/ rec needed replacement along with the battery.
Left switch gear needed replacement.
Head bearings required replacement.
Rear brake required a rebuild.
Rear sub frame mainly rust.
Rear shock required replacement.
Front tyre beyond the legal limit.
Front sub frame twisted.
Clutch cable and worm required replacement.
Side stand broken.
Side stand switch bypassed.
New engine required (cam chain worn).

There might have been one or two other things but I can't remember right now. It was the engine that pushed me over the edge, couldn't bring myself to go though another change over with all the other faults. Not bad for a bike that wasn't really serviced and hadn't been washed for 4 years. But the worse thing was I still had 9 months on the MOT.

LOL - sounds like triggers broom
