OK....having had this arguement with a mate and speaking directly to the DVLA the answer is:

If the licence you now hold is your first full licence then you are subject to the 2 year 6 point limit. Whether it be motorcycle or car. I.e If you don't have a car licence and your bike licence is the first test you've passed! Or you already have a licence but for less than 2 years.

This would result in you being given provisional entitlement on both licences and require you to resit both tests

If the licence you now hold is in addition to an existing fully entitled licence then you are not subject to the 6 point period. I.e If you already have a full bike or car licence and have held it for longer than 2 years.

PS.. I have to check these things cause with 4 Bans (all speeding) and a TT99 on my licence I can't take any more risks! Am a good boy now though
