It's far cheaper to buy 5 litres of good quality chainsaw oil (I use Husqvarna stuff) that's all Scottoiler refills are. It's a tenth of the price.

Just remember to give the can a good shake before you spray it on the chain.
I have a theory that chain lube that doesn't fling isn't working its way into the rollers and actually lubricating like it's meant to. If it's just sitting there like a solid then it's not moving around and getting into where it needs to be. I'd rather have a little fling and know the job's being done - besides, if the rear wheel gets mucky then it's a good excuse to give the bike a clean.

Personally, I love scottoilers and wouldn't own a commuter bike wthout fitting one to it - I even have one on my little 250 single.

Someone was going to and we were all thinking it!

I actually like my chain to appear wet, so perhaps the snot isn't so bad after all.

i prefer my chain wet looking. Plus its seem to stay that way with stuff that flings. I used the chain wax for a few months, but it seems to attract more muck, makes it harder to clean off, and the chain seems to go rusty too. With the fling stuff like the Holts it looks brand new all the time.
