This doesn't make sense to me. My 750 costs £150 tpft. That's not the sort of premium that suggests they're having problems covering costs. I suspect it's just that one insurance company decided they personally can't compete with other insurers premiums for the 750 because they've had a disproportionate share of payouts and the statisical formulas are now saying no.

Exactly.

And it's probably also targeted at young riders who went for the 750 as a way to save money over the insurance on the thousand.

Nope, but as I've seen last years, and the year before that, and the year before that I think I've seen this one. However don't get me wrong the GSXR is a cracking bike, its just that the newer ones look the all the same.

Back to the subject of insurance I doubt that no company will touch them its just that they will cost a little more. Which is a shame as if I were to own one (and occasionally I live dangerously with a combination of late nights, alcohol and eBay) I would have the 750 from the mid 2000's.

Yep mine added £25 to the SV for my remaining 6 months of insurance. I can see them raising the group of the new ones, but the SRAD is old enough to be a modern classic . (As is the curvy SV of course).

As it is far higher then what that are receiving in premiums! Even having been pushing up the price, they are still making a loss!

Just a heads up in case anyone is looking at getting one, its something to note!
Your "insurance guy" is talking absolute BS.You can insure anything if you are prepared to pay for it and the GSXR750 is no exception, now or "in a year or so"

He's Probably one of those people who goes round saying that in London you're never more than 6 feet away from a rat... or that Gollywog teddy's are banned. Or that dinosaurs never really existed and the queen is secretly a lizard. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Anyone wanna buy my k1 750?
