I finished my November last year. No they do not give you a new license.

The one time I was pulled I had an argument with Mr Plod when he said, "Is this bike restricted"
To which I replied, "No, officer"

"Well it should be"
"Erm, the restriction is for two years from the date of pass...
"No, you have a restricted license the bike should be restricted"

Now I'm getting annoyed to which I say, "Ok, please can you phone the DVLA or your boss and ask him to confirm this"

He checks the rest of the bike over, and says have a safe ride and goes.

DVLA say no you dno't NEED to and they charge your hard earned cash for a new one.

If you get a ban, when they return your license they will have removed it

Don't have to change you're license, but I think you can get it updated for the very reasonable sum of sixty British pounds sterling!

Don't forget to take photocopies and get them certified by someone (copper, doctor, brief etc) and make sure you've still got test pass certificate etc. as the DVLA are likely to "forget" you've got a bike license if you send yours in.

So what happens then when they screw up like that and you only have a bike category?

Yeah theres alot of bad stories about that, am fine with the fact I was restricted on my license, but if I got it removed, I think that increases the bikes performance by 5 bhp!
