Was thinking of changing coolant hoses also, just wondering how hard to get to, was thinking about samco blue bling hoses, as mine a 03 reg, did contact a company on ebay, but found that the S model had about 5 or 6 pieces, when this firm was trying to sale me a 3 part kit so will have to do a bit more digging on right kit, will put on site if I do swap, all the best

unless the hoses are cracked or bulging dont bother changing them, i have never heard of them bursting on the SV. dont bother with fancy marketed carp and get halfords pink. since you stay down south i would get the ready mixed stuff.

Awwww Gary, as I would pull your leg! You know I am a total nerd. ![]() That stuff is not cheap, but it has been getting rave reviews from petrol heads all over the place. If I could afford the extravagance of doing it, I probably would. Your nearest dealer is probably miles from you though. Alfaholics Unit 12, Hither Green Ind. Est., Clevedon, Bristol, BS21 6XU www.alfaholics.com mail@alfaholics.com tel: 01275 349449 Like Bibio says though, standard stuff will do the job just fine and save you plenty of pennies over the waterless stuff. It is less bling though and I know that bling is important for your bike. ![]() Wifey is pretty cool at the moment although she has had a cold for about three months, which is grating on her I think. Alby is fine as always, although I feel that breeding season is coming soon because she is getting possessive again! Only three months until Bike night starts again, so that is something to look forwards too. My bike is coming together well and should look good, although I am not in any way likely to win a prize ever again because Carol provides the music so is involved! Do please send my best wishes to your other half and little guy, I hope that they are both well. See you soon matey XXX |

All great here, did contact that company, £54.00 plus vat, Only in 5ltr, so you could do 3 bike I suppose, about 5 miles away from me, say about £20 quid each, not bad if you don't need to change it again.might be a good investment, then samco hoses, wot do you think Jayne.

I think that you would do it because you love your bling. Samco hoses are pretty though, not that I am tempted in anyway! It would not be worth me doing the swap to waterless coolant, I fiddle with my bike far too much also I think that you have to flush it through first with a cleaner to remove the dirt, corrosion and remaining water, which adds to the price. It does get rave reviews though.
Next time you are in Weston, pop in for a cuppa ( I will PM you my address, don't want any old maniac turning up for a cuppa do we!) and come and see what I have done to my bike, she is not as shiny as yours, but she does look good with her new forks, I just hope that they work alright! Hugs XXXX Boo Hiss, I can't PM you! Don't know why. Send me a message if you remember.

Only reason why I'm going to change coolant as not done since main service I had, needed to top up coolant ask shop to recommended one for sv, as they serviced it, said castrol, so top up with that, now told not to use castrol could affect engine, so is very suspicious of garages,so have not gone back to that garage, done brakes, braided lines myself, happy more now since found bridge garage in weston, Jayne my email address is gary.gibbons64@Yahoo.co.uk.

Since you have the service manual, you might have read that it specifies a "coolant compatible with aluminum radiators", nothing more or less. That's pretty much everything that will work in cars.

Just make sure you coolant says "silicate free".
