Some poor sod, hopefully they have cloned the plate onto a good bike rather than a scooter.

A mate of mine got police senging him a NIP as he had failed to stop on Seven Sisters Road for a police officer. It happens that the numberplate in question comes from the bike that smashed into the back of me at the start of the year, i had the opportunity to dismantle the bike 2 weeks later to be sold in parts. The NIP came several months after i had dismantled it. So they let him off.

I got talking to a guy that works in the ANPR vans a lot this morning, he had a photo of the bike that's apparently cloned yours...

Get the pics, not your bike, case closed.

How possible would this be:

You get a NIP from a speed camera (it really was you)

You say it was not you and that your plate must have been cloned

They ask you for pics of bike or clothing

You send in pics that are slightly different to the one that must be on the speed camera (eg different helmet, make a small change to your bike etc)

I cannot see how they would catch you out?

Case closed?

If everybody did this it would have 1 of 2 effects:

1. The current farce of photo justice would stop
2. The dicks in power would stop the cloning for once and for all

Either of the above outcomes is surely a good thing?

That's a little off the mark from my thinking. They don't ask for pictures, they send the picture proving the offence happend (innocent till proven otherwise, remember).

Aslo, if it was only minor changes, they'd have to take into account where you claimed to be at the time of offence. Also if you had any witnesses. It's far more complicated than JUST a picture!
