Cheers all.....thinking I will use Druids method, as dont have anything at hand to prop it on the side stand.

How best to get them on to axel stands? I presume place one on the right hand peg, then slowly jack up the left side until upright then slide the other one under?

i jacked up the whole bike and lowered it onto the axle stands both at the same time, you may find that your axle stands wont go high enough aswell

Ok, will look in the morning. Else it will be a case of using a car jack under the right peg and then hoping it doesn't fall over!!!!!

Yeah, can do, was thinking maybe wrapping the axel stands in cloth, placing one on right hand side, jack up the bike from the left, place axel stand under left hand side and hey presto.

personally i would do that thing where you lift the rear off the ground on the side stand then get linseed to put the axle stand under the RH side then push the bike over and get linseed to run over to the left with the other stand

You dont want recovery to plug it because that will mean a new tyre will be needed
