Being a parent of a young child and living on a dead straight 30mph road that is full of chav'd up nova's doing 90 anything to slow them down a bit is fine by me.

However sticking a camera van on the a339 is allthogether another issue. No houses, great visibility, great big left hander and more often than not a van parked on the apex. Question is if you're riding towards them and they take a pic of the front of your bike doing a slightly excessive speed, are they likely to put down their lad-mag (or knitting if CSO) and cup of tea then write down your reg as you go past or are you going to get away with it?

Yet more proof mate that they really don't give two hoots about safety, they just want to make a quick buck at our expense. One thing to note though is that sometimes those camera vans are situated but can radio a group of pursuit bikes up ahead to pull you in as you speed past teh van thinking you are safe. Happened to me and a friend on a totally clear dual carridgeway. Luckily though we spotted it and managed to get our speeds down to sub 70 byt the time we were 'in range' of the van so they had no comeback even though we were going a little bit quick beforehand.

Sniper of some sort, maybe?? I didn't want to ask her out, I'm too shy.
