I have no idea the proportions of a British plate on that fender
Can't do before and after, not done anything yet. Here is a british plate on the fender.

Good point on the light. Thanks for you input, I'll go out to the garage and see how I get on.

It really is a billboard. My plate is about 2.5" high, so I see a lot more fender. That hole in the middle of the fender is just barely covered.

How much higher can you get the number plate?
EDIT: Just had a look at mine... The answer is a couple of inches, but the bracket for the plate will need to stand off a bit from the fender to get over the hump. Raising it that far will help a lot.

Ive not got a reflector on the KTM as its an offroad bike and comes under different rulings
Its been through 2 different MOT stations and both have said the same.
The daytona doent have a reflector either...

Its got reflective tape on the bottom of the plate, covering up the garage name an thats been through MOT too

Don't know if it's possible on your bike or not but I have a stick on reflector actually stuck onto the rear light. Don't know the legality of it but I've never had any come back from it.

A piece of ally strip fixed to the rear of the plate with one of these stuck to the bottom Here I use the same sort of get up when touring Europe with a reflective GB sticker on. Like the white GB ones HERE

Well after a slow start resulting in taking my electric jig saw apart, then going to B&Q, I got some of it done before being called in for dinner. I decided to go for the aluminium plate first and leave the snow shovel intact. At least that way if I don't like what I've done I can just throw it away.

left to do is drill the holes to secure the tail light to the tail tidy, drill holes to mount the numberplate, mount the reflector on the bottom of the number plate, paint the tail tidy black, cut a piece of plastic sheet to go under the seat as an undertray, making it easier to clean underneath and protecting the CDI unit that was supposed to be protected by the snow shovel (but it still covered in crud), and the rear subframe which is suffering from rust (a job for another day).

Looks alright Col.

I'd have put the plate the other way up so the cack doesnt stick to it though

Maybe, but the bit where it bolts into the bike you won't see, as I'm going to make a plastic undertray that goes the full length. There is no undertray at all so the mud gets right in underneath the seat, and all round the rear subframe, it's a s**t design for an off road bike.

It's just the bit that hangs below the indicators that will be exposed to the mud. I'll try MattCollins advice about the silicon as well.

I know what you mean.

But had problems years ago with the dtr.

Aye, aye, comedian

It a **** design for a road bike too as the salt gets right into the rear subframe (it's not a subframe, the frame is all one piece, but you know what I mean)
