Simply beep continuously until they cease their call, if they look round as if they dont know whats going on simply point at them and make a phone symbol with ure hand, only if it is safe to do so ofcourse. This tactic normally embarasses people into stopping or if you have a loud horn they wont be able to hear their call! I think this is a great idea however I take no responsibility to car drivers who get violent or other daft things!
I've done this. I have a considerably louder than standard horn. Pull along side and continue to keep horn button firmly pressed until they put the phone down. It gains everyone elses attention too.

A car pulled out directly in front of me as I was going round a mini roundabout. The car then stopped directly in my path because of traffic and nowhere for the car to go. It was whilst I anchored on the brakes I noticed that this person was actually texting.

I beeped my horn and the driver simply looked up at me and the straight back down at the phone. I was very very tempted to actually stop braking and ride straight into the drivers door. I am quite sure I could have done it and managed to roll off the bike without injury. In fact, on reflection, I really regret not having done that.

I know one person who was done for it, prior to the points being brought in. He only got a £30 fine, IIRC.

Hi Guys,

I was driving through Tunbridge Wells the other day behind my boyfriend, he's on his huge Tiger with Flo ex police jacket which is really bright. He filtered past this woman that didn't see him she swerved over nearly took his back wheel but cut me up. There was no reason for her to do it as I went past I noticed she was txting. I laid on my horn which is rubbish, lifted my visor and kept shouting get off your phone you silly bitch. She was so scared she through her phone across the car.

Now my boyfriend has told me off as I did this again to a bloke. The same on phone turned left without signal and jammed brakes on but as I shouted he reversed out and chased us down the road. I think his passenger stopped him chasing us but it was pretty scary. I must admit I was worried I only have a little GS500 and knew he would catch me.

What can we do !
