Whats an 03 FZ6 worth? - SV650.org

Afternoon all,

I'm considering getting a second bike. My IAM instructor is selling his Fazer 6. 2003 model (thundercat engine) 24k. It's mechanically perfect as he uses the same mechanic I do and lots of parts are new. Tyres, exhaust, brake lines, chain, sprockets, battery. Cosmetically its a little dirty but i'm good at cleaning.

Whats it worth? He wants about £2k is that a good price?
Parkers say £1600 - £2200

PLease help!

If its mechanically sound and you like the bike make him a cheeky offer he can only say no then take it from there. Any bike is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it afterall.

Good luck with your possible new toy, I've been workin on a couple of new build houses in Seghill recently

Erm not sure i was only there for a while when they started they must be just about finished now tho cos my brother has just put all the windows and doors in a couple of weeks ago. I know the bloke who done the work built a terrace of about 9 small houses and he's just put another 2 up which i think were bigger, you've probably seen his vans about "GT Developements"

Isn't it due for valve service? Offer him £1800.. maybe up to £1900 at max.

valve service you say. I'll make some enquiries then. I know it has a FSH but not sure if this has been done.

I coulda sworm on those it was at 24k.. but could easily have been 12k or 18k. I'm getting old, you see.

Either way I guess if it has a FSH it may have been done, but check anyway. People sometimes just get oil/filter/plugs at the service with valves so there's a stamp in the book..

Yeah i know what you're saying like but the guy who is selling it and the guy who services it are both sticklers for correct servicing. For example when I get my bike serviced they do oil, filter, plugs, clean the air filter. Check the brakes, chain etc and check the fuel injection. When I got my SV back last time it was serviced it flew and was much smoother.
