Default Muzikill - Sv650s k3 Rebuild - Passed mot today :)

I cant thank everyone enough, i'll update this thread with a list of thanks once i read through all of my posts!

It only had one advisory for the chain have some of the links sticking, but once i explained that the bike had been sitting around for approx 3 years then giving it a good clean, lube, and getting it out and about should clear this up. I said i was going to change the chain and sprockets soon but the guy said they werent that bad!

The thing it i thought it might have failed for was the forks and stanchions but the advice i was given on rubbing them down worked perfectly. Also i thought a seal had torn but i went mad bouncing the front forks up and down rubbing off the excess oil ring that this was creating up the stanchion and it eventually cleared up. It seems that this may have been some excess lube sitting in the space between the dust and oil seals. And using this method along with the front brake to compress it proved it wasnt that serious as i thought (lucky!).

Once again, i couldnt have done it without everyones help and support on the .org. Before i started i knew f*k all about bikes and engines, i think i proved that with the right gear and confidence it can be done!

I'm a biker again

Well done mate. It's been epic!

I hate to say it, but with all those threads I think I missed the one where you actually fixed it.

I was intending to do one thread but i think seperating each issue into a different thread may helps others who get stuck at the same bits. Makes it easier for them to get the right part without having to read through all the pages.

Your post counts at 540. I think 500 of that was threads you created about the rebuild.

Epic

You're right enough. It was hard to follow "live" but it should make things easier for thread searchers in future.

Nice one! Take care now - if you haven't been riding another bike you are going to be "rusty". Build your confidence up steadily and, most of all, have fun.
