Oh yes folks, the awesome power of an unrestricted SV650 is now mine!
![]() I took out the 33BHP ECU today and fitted the full power ECU in it's place, then I switched on the engine and it promptly idled at a smidge over 3K. A quick turn of the idle adjuster and all was smooth again and ready for my first test ride, with the wife watching. I managed the grand speed of three miles per hour, just making sure that nothing had messed up my excellent slow control and can happily report that all is lovely. Reports of Burn Outs were exaggerated and no, the wife did not catch it on camera! ![]() When riding around town, there is no noticeable difference in power delivery, which just goes to show what a lovely bike the SV is even when restricted. The wife then gave me the keys to her ZRX1100, which felt like riding a battle ship when compared to the little SV. The stearing felt so heavy and just lifting the bike off the stand took my strength. I now have even more respect for the way the wife throws it around like it is 125! Not sure I would want something that big and heavy just yet, let me get used to the power of an unrestricted SV before I start playing with the big girls toys. ![]() |

I didn't know you were on a 33bhp ECU, you ride like a maniac around town, so, thought ypu had the full 71 bhp... Wait till you get hold of 110 or above

Remember: With great power comes great...

![]() Thank you every one for kind words and encouragement. However, big bikes still scare me just enough to make me want one. ![]() ![]() Although you can see which one I feel most comfortable on. ![]() |

Wooo nice one Jayne! I still can't believe you've only just had the restriction off, feels like you've been riding/on this forum much longer than a restriction allows
