Thanks, but no thanks ;-)
I put Z1000 mirrors on mine (similar) and I like the look.

I have been busy corrupting my Step Son's delightful Girlfriend from sweet innocent blonde haired student into a raven haired biker chick! She has now fallen in love with my bike and I am forced to go out on dates with them, just so that I can carry her around on my pillion seat (he is still on learner plates sadly) where upon she shouts in my ear "Let's go really fast!" :smurfin:

dirtyred619 I wanna know more about your suspension upgrades :D i want to do mine you made a thread about it?
gone from this multi colour mess:
http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l210/leebex/DSC_1372_zps2590669c.jpg (http://s97.photobucket.com/user/leebex/media/DSC_1372_zps2590669c.jpg.html)
to this, ok so its not the best match, but as it only cost me £25 in paint and laquer Im not going to complain, I hated the fake carbon fibre look on the belly pan, and the nose cone looked daft, so had a can of euclase silver mixed up, slowly returning it more standard, Ive removed the broken pyramid undertray, home made tail tidy, cheap Chinese adjustable levers, and just want to rip off the cheap crap front mini indicators, also removing the comfort kit top yoke soon as I prefer clippons, and have found a home for the yoke ;)
That just leaves the gbmoto rearsets, gsxr rear shock, Beowulf can and led side lights, plus some silly little bling that's not worth mentioning, blimey almost standard, lol. currently making up a projector headlight though!!

Just picked her up today. Really pleased with how she looks, but really need to sort out the suspension. It feels like a complete soggy horrible mess compared to my gsxr. Got to raise the back end a bit too.
Fancy getting myself a few bits too: seat cowl braided hoses and I want a Yoshimura tri oval exhaust.

It looks fantastic, is that red a stock color?
Suspension upgrade is god, but i think leave the exhaust. Have the front fork legs paintet instead.

Check to see if it has standard dogbones fitted or if they are lowering ones. If lowered ones then fit standard and if it's still to low, get a K3 subframe, powdercoat it black and then fit that along with K3 seat infill panels!

Do you know what the standard dog bone length is for a pointy? Mine do seem quite long so maybe it has been lowered.
the code stamped on them is 17-G if there is no code then they more than likely have been changed.
phil24_7
23-07-13, 09:04 PM
It does look like it has been lowered as my wifes SV sits about the same hight.
Can't see any stamps on the dog bones as they have been painted to tidy them up I presume? Fairly rough measurement whilst they're on the bike is about 148mm centres.
On another note, tidied it up a bit by fitting my nano indicators:

They're great indi's, I've got them on my curvy, front & rear

Yep. 17G stamped. Changed over and fitted 40 mm jack up. Only made 10 mm difference to seat height though

26-07-13, 01:08 PM
You need a K3 rear subframe then!
yes but they would have made 40mm at the very rear of bike.
You need a K3 rear subframe then!
I'm lead to believe that I'll need different rear plastics as well as the subframe and the infill panels.
yes but they would have made 40mm at the very rear of bike.
Oh yes, I know, but was naively thinking that it might be a bit more than 10 mm at the seat :)

Nope. just seat infil panels and subframe.
phil24_7

Haven't a clue!
This bike has some serious history, thinking track use if I'm honest. I bought it like this.
I thought It was like this on the k5, and the k6+ went to a black swing arm too.
The subframe has been welded too, and I got it cheap so...
It's a Friday afternoon bike I think Lew. Someone thought "what the hell, who will notice?!"

No, that is a K3 naked, so, the rear seat is higher than K4+ models due to the rear sub-frame being straight. K4+ bikes have a bent rear sub-frame

Not that I know of. What is the standard dogbone length? Then I can find out for you...and me....then jack it up.

I don't often like pointy's very much, but that one in that colour with the rim tape (me liking rim tape is even rarer!!) is a really good looking bike!
