Suspension , brakes, exhaust and tyres are the main priorities (for me). If you have an 'S' I quite like the full faired look too (a fair few disagree though).
I agree love full faired Sv s mine has blue rim tape, air filter, black double bubble and headlight covers, yoshi can, braided front and rear brake lines and tail tidy loads of ideas just fitting and funding.
Can't wait till summer meet few people on ride outs

I'm looking at fitting one to my Daytona.
Its easy to not notice what gear your in when ragging it through the back lanes with earplugs in.
Obviously after a while you get used to looking at the rev counter and know what gear your in but having a digi display, right there in front of you as a quick reference can only be a good thing.

Yeah I think that's right.
as far as i know, for 2009 onwards the only SV 650 they make is the sport :)
I think your right sport was k8 and k9 but after 2009 the sport is the only Sv as the gladius is the naked version

Coming from the man that owns neither , you didn`t seem to mind cadging a lift on my Pointy back in Scotland .
You're so cruel dave, the way I look at it is that a curvy is now a bit of a classic and should be treated as such, a pointy is still just a bike, with rim tape, kinda soulless ;-) Curvy's will now start to go up in price as they get rarer, as they go for the last ride to the scrape yard, the hedge and bike heaven, pointy's will suffer this fate as well but not for 10 year s or so and until then they will be ragged and crashed by the newly qualified riders. Curvy's now have a soul :-)

Lots of people seem to dislike the pointy's "shovel", and rimtape in general, but I like them both, a lot!
I didn't like the curvy's "shovel" much, but I only cut it shorter, I didn't replace. I like it being big, bulky, and visible, with indicator/wings!
Found one with plough removed ( and mirrors ). I need to take more pics.

Most of it was like that when i got it, although i did add the dreaded top box. Other mods include, Scotoiler, heated grips, double bubble screen and soon a fender extender which will be arriving next week.
Tyres are both Bridgestone battleaxes which ive always liked (the original dunlops were horrible imo)
Later in the year im going to replace the missile tube with a nice oval fuel exhaust \\:D/

The previous owner took delivery of it on the 29th Decemeber 2004, just before the new model with the black frame came out, so my guess is Suzuki was half way through the switchover and he got the black wheels instead of the silver ones. Black wheels look so much better anyway :D It was yellow brand new so no colour changes, I thought all original yellow SVs were supposed to have silver frame and wheels.

Hi everyone, I'm new to biking, and I have a question- why are all the curvys on this thread broken? They're all jagged and have sharp bits poking out. Is "pointy" just a term for when an SV is in this state?
Thanks

I like the Curvy tubular frame more than the Pointy extruded frame, but I totally dislike the Curvy faring.
Given the choice and an inexhaustible budget, would build my own SV with a curvy frame and pointy fairing and motor. Mind you I would have to use a different swing arm, maybe a nice curvy Spondon.
You see folks, we should embrace each other, we are not different, we all love the SV be it curvy or pointy. we should just make the Org a big love in, with lots of cuddling and stroking of SV motorcycles. Let the love flow, lets us hold each other and smile as we love our brothers and sisters in the SV world.
YEah, opne for the hippies of the Org...
