Is it against the rules for me to get my own tag? :)

HoL
04-03-12, 09:27 PM
It doesn't specifically say you can't in the rules...

I've been trying - I took this one but it's more of a quayside than a pier. Incidentally made out of around 90% glass :(

http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i408/mrhol101/b7fc7db4.jpg

Then I found this on google street (am I taking this too seriously? Lol) but i went there today & as suspected its a slipway :(

http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i408/mrhol101/250258fd.jpg

It's amazing how many piers are round here but they don't seem to want people to get to them :(

DarrenSV650S
04-03-12, 09:36 PM
I would have believed you if you had said the first one was a pier :)

Where are you?

HoL
04-03-12, 09:51 PM
I'm on the Wirral. I couldn't bring myself to claim it was a pier, there is one I may go for but it was very splashy today & I only finished cleaning all the salt off my bike today. A bit scared of dropping it in the sea too

How cool is this this house? It's right by where the second photo was taken.

Street view goes all the way down that pier but you're not allowed to drive down there? In the reflection of the tram window behold the google bicycle!

DarrenSV650S
04-03-12, 11:24 PM
Cool! I didn't even try to put the streetview on the pier lol. Well if trams and googlemobiles are allowed I don't see why you shouldn't be :D

Heavens, I was at South Queensferry today but didn't know what the tag was.

Oh well...back out tomorrow then..

Does anyone know the difference between a pier & a jetty?

HoL

Good, let's keep it that way. GAME ON!

Does anyone know the difference between a pier & a jetty?

You can find a fine example of a jetty just behind the motorcycle in this picture (http://forums.sv650.org/showpost.php?p=2673666&postcount=77)

So far as I'm concerned a Pier is fixed, sells candy floss and is covered in old people and a Jetty floats up and down and is usually just covered in seagull poo.

Ah, you're thinking of a pleasure pier (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pier#Pleasure_piers) that pic is a regular one (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pier). Incidentally that is fixed :)

joshwalker094
08-03-12, 10:34 PM
yeah hurry up, im no where near a lifegueard station, so someone else can have this one

HoL
08-03-12, 10:58 PM
OK a quick Google of lifeguard station comes up with those bay watch style ones in America and the one I posted so the tag has changed. Any caravans in Manchester?

joshwalker094
08-03-12, 11:08 PM
hmmm, theres a jippo site a couple miles down the road, and theres a guy a couple doors down with one haha. very busy with work these next two days, but if can get the bike out ill try set a new challenge

HoL
08-03-12, 11:23 PM
Do it! I've got a free Sunday morning to go hunting

BanannaMan
09-03-12, 05:34 AM
Extra points if there are pikeys in the pic and they don't try to nick your bike whilest you're taking the photo!

Not possible - it'll be MILES ahead!

HoL
10-03-12, 02:00 PM
To follow shortly? Awwww, I'm probably leaving work about 3ish. Give me something to find on the way home!!

DarrenSV650S
10-03-12, 02:27 PM
Ok hang on

DarrenSV650S
10-03-12, 03:01 PM
Theres no 3G anywhere around here so it took ages to upload the pic

HoL
10-03-12, 03:08 PM
:( Could be worse, I think Josh has been abducted by Gypsys

Richie
10-03-12, 03:23 PM
Went out on the bike today, and stopped to look at what the next challenge was... :0(
Hurry Up......! And that is an Order!

HoL
10-03-12, 04:38 PM
You heard him recruit!

joshwalker094
10-03-12, 09:51 PM
they damn Gypsys, cant get away from them, had to agree to have my drive block paved, trees cut down that i dont have, my loft insulated, my roof done and the facias. and then i come back and the challenge has been done :O .
I've been busy working, not had the bike out at all this week, hopefully tomorrow, now what do you count as a huge pile of wood ?

DarrenSV650S
10-03-12, 10:38 PM
30 tonnes minimum

andrewsmith
10-03-12, 10:40 PM
enough to cause a very large fire

orose
10-03-12, 11:04 PM
Might be a tricky one - google maps suggests the nearest huge pile of wood to me is a laminate floor warehouse, and I doubt they'll let me take the bike into the showroom even after I washed it...

andrewsmith
10-03-12, 11:05 PM
its a Northern and Scottish tag again!!

joshwalker094
10-03-12, 11:08 PM
hmmm timber yard should do, just to think of a new tag, and ill do it tomorrow

DarrenSV650S
10-03-12, 11:08 PM
mwauahahaha

BanannaMan
10-03-12, 11:33 PM
Would be an easy one for me but did a bit too much riding last weekend and now my rear tyre is too dangerous for even a 10 mile ride. :(
Will be putting new ones on next weekend.
Just my luck it would be such an easy one this weekend.

DarrenSV650S
10-03-12, 11:37 PM
I was thinking it would be a good one for you bananaman while I was uploading the pic lol. I actually stood on top of the logs to get a better signal. Eventually gave up and rode to the next town to find some 3G but there was none

I'm sure someone will have it by next week but if not please get it :)

DarrenSV650S
11-03-12, 06:38 PM
MYB (what happened to MYC btw?) does it have to say "welcome"? Or can it just be beside a nature reserve

missyburd
11-03-12, 07:41 PM
I wanted a change :-P

Nope it has to say Welcome (which is why I specified), so you have to go into it :-P

DarrenSV650S
11-03-12, 07:57 PM
I've been googlemaping and none of them around here say welcome. They're very rude :(

missyburd
11-03-12, 08:21 PM
Rude Scots, who'd have thought it! :-P

punyXpress

Grr ive got a nature reserve across the road from my house and another one out the back and another one just down the road, but none of them have a welcome sign *wanders off muttering*

missyburd
12-03-12, 11:00 AM
they do exist! hehe hadn't realised it would be quite so difficult but bout time you were made to work a bit harder :-P

Geodude
12-03-12, 11:05 AM
Yep myb you're right, gets you oot and aboot and where's the fun if its easy. No signs at my local places just dog poop bins at the entrances that stink?

Reeder

Tbh I know of a sign, and if it's dry next weekend and I've changed my tyres by then I shall go investigate whether or not it has a welcome.

HoL
12-03-12, 05:28 PM
Whoop! Done! LNR stands for Local Nature Reserve in case you're wondering. Rode past the inflatable guy on the way home & couldn't resist it as a tag :)

missyburd
12-03-12, 06:31 PM
Nope, wasn't wondering! Well done Hol, nice one. I do kow where one of those men lurk but not over that way for a while...

andrewsmith
12-03-12, 07:12 PM
The next one may stand for a while

Would DP be a suitable stand-in?

HoL

Reeder

Yeah guys! (thanks luckypants, I was struggling to control them) :-P

Back to big wavey inflatable men... I doubt anyone is going to find one like that anywhere lol. Can there be a slight individual interpretation of it?

missyburd
13-03-12, 10:41 AM
I'm hoping it doesn't have to be the same colour?

Luckypants
13-03-12, 10:55 AM

missyburd
13-03-12, 11:18 AM

punyXpress
13-03-12, 11:18 AM
Don't think you're allowed to use the same one, LP?

HoL
13-03-12, 11:20 AM
Sure you are, as long as it's taken after the first one was posted. The more ways to keep it going the better :)

missyburd
13-03-12, 11:22 AM

I was surprised it was got so quickly judging by how difficult you were all making it out to be, that's what you get for setting it on a weekend :D

New tag. Your bike next to a big fookin pile of wood

http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k164/DarrenStewartTait/20120310_142237.jpg
That big pile of wood would make a great background to a picture of your bike on a sunny day.

Otherwise known as 'Air Dancers'

Imagine inflatables LE17 4PJ
Airmazin dancers AL8 7XD
Airdancer RM4 2SJ
Airdancer wales SA18 3SJ
Swindon Air dancers SN3 4BY
Pineapple Leisure, Halesfield, Telford
AAA Inflatables PE28 2SL

Surely some of these have demos on outside.

To be fair, his arms aren't really flailing he's too busy holding onto carpet samples

Take the pic - it has to better than my effort! Even if they're real men with real wavy arms.

I'm afraid boredom had set in. That and I couldn't think of any other legitimate reason for posting the "bike as a clothes hanger" pic

Luckypants
20-03-12, 08:59 AM
I'm calling foul on DJFridge..... surely the whole point is that folks have to go out looking on their bike to find the tag? If it takes more than a week so be it....

IMO Flappy Arm man tag still stands as no one has got it yet.
