This is a sweet thread. My curvy sv i got has 40k miles on and all stock so im really thinking of some DIY now. Got no experience though, just getting into bikes so could be messy.

Curvy shock needs to be much longer and stiffer, like 355mm and 600lbs/in spring where pointy needs more like 340mm and 450lbs/in. Which makes common ZX6 shocks used for curvy not much good. However one of later ZX6Rs shocks, possibly 07 onwards, silver with goldy coloured spring IIRC has spot on length and pretty good spring. (N.B this is good for handling, if you are short then go get put on a rack or something, I don't care about you falling over...)

Cheers for that Chris, I was offered a good condition ZX6R shock at a cheap price. I shall let it slide now though due to it being the same one as in the opening shots of this thread.

so long as the battery is sealed ( i.e has no vent ports and says sealed ) then your ok.
