Same here Tony, and I'm not asthmatic, I don't smoke, I weigh under 9 stone and my blood pressure and general health is fine. I walked 4 miles at a rapid pace yesterday no problem - any more and my heel is agony - but stairs, pah forget it. Had to climb 11 flights in to get to the top of a hotel recently and thought I was going to die by about the 7th floor.

+1 on the squash or badminton. as long as you've got half decent hand eye co-ordination you'll be quite good quite quickly and then it's just a case of you playing a lot n you'll be fit as anything in no time. as it's short intervals at high intensity it really gets your ticker working hard!

Sounds like you'd fit the bill as a Defensive Linebacker then!

not a chance, phil hasn't got the speed in his legs, more like a fairly small defensive lineman i'd say

I can't wait for the end of the month, I get to see you again Chris. Please share with the org how many times you tried to hurt me at TOGMIE again how many times you writhed in pain when I avenged your feeble efforts lol

A swift poke in the ribs with a sharp fingernail near his defib box is enough to floor him, no strength required. Once he's down you can sit on him and I'll tickle his feet.

Thanks all for the suggestions.

However I should start by saying I don't get out of breath tying my shoes laces, I didn't think a humorous quip would be taken so seriously.

Now going through the ideas I have to say Climbing isn't really a sport, its more of something to do. Besides I've done that before but didn't really get on with it. Dancing isn't going to happen as I have no rhythm (the main reason my drumming career didn't get anywhere), and for some reason its women only if you want to do Pole.

Cycling is far to dangerous, and running isn't a sport, again like climbing its something to do. Swimming is something I haven't done for years but doesn't strike me as a sport, I fear drowning.

Martial Arts, now that's an interesting one. I was an Olympic Wrestler when I was at school, but I cant find any local clubs. By the sounds of it Karate is one to avoid, but what is CXT? I have seen MMA and UFC but that just looks like competitive spooning so that's not going to happen. Will think about kick boxing though.

As for American Football, not sure if its for me. From what I understand its just Rugby where some very big men run at each other to knock each other down while trying to anticipate how an egg will bounce. Only the Americans wear padding and for every 15 seconds of play they need to talk about it for 5 minutes. Besides, I'm not built for it.

Squash and Badminton. I always get them confused, which one is the limp wrist and which one is the heart attack in a room? I've done the room one before and enjoyed that. How do you get started in that?
