Sounds like there's no fuel in it, and by end of that vid your battery is flat.

In my experience, if your plungers are stuck they'll stay stuck, mine stuck solid with the choke full on so it idled at 3500 ish rpm once the engine had got warm and the choke lever would move, but nothing happened.

I'd be inclined to think that Chris is right and you have some sort of fueling issue rather than a stuck set of choke plungers.. but I'm not technical enough to advise further, if you have a fuelling issue, waiting till its warmer wont help you as it'll still be there.

Personally if its starting doing this after a garage serviced your bike, I'd be inclined to go back to them and ask them what they did / didnt do and then ask them why since they serviced it, its not starting / running properly.

The only way to see if warmth helps is to wait and see, and it's not a problem as I dont plan on riding my bike much until then. I can't remember if it did in that vid, but it has a full tank just now when I tried it. Without the choke on, the ticked over, but then fell back down. I started it again and it idled this time, but sounded weak, so I put the choke on, and kept going fine, but after a minute or so, the revs will slowly start dropping, even with the choke on, to even below idle revs, from here I give the throttle a twist and the same process will happen again after a minute or two. After a few minutes of this though, (I assume once the engine has warmed) this stops happening for the best part.

I also don't think it's the choke plungers. The bike has done 7500 and DavePreston tells me that's very new! I've tried with two separate batteries. Reg-rec is new..

Strange, check for air leaks, the airbox seated right, all vacuum lines OK etc.

You haven't got an airlock stopping the tank breathing, have you?

Well, I think I have a hunch what it is! Did the daily routine, and my exhaust really seems to be part of the problem! It sounded like it was dying, then I kept twisting the throttle to keep the bike going, it seemed like it was going to cut out no matter what, and then I heard a "pop"! So I look at my exhaust, then every time I rev, a flare comes out the back! (I wasn't revving it hard btw). So, however much I want to keep the dragon-exhaust, I think I should get it sorted!

This reminds me of when my friend's loose stubby came almost off, so the exhaust was open, and the dropping revs is exactly what happened! BING! (Light bulb above head)

Sound right? I should get a new can/repacked? It is a race can I bought off of ebay, with unknown miles previously.

I know this has nothing to do with choke plungers, but I think I'd be bumping some great biking minds if I wrote it here

So, I want to fit my standard can, I have all the clamps and stuff, I just need to know how to remove firegum?

If you're stood there reving it you're just loading the can with a bit of unburnt fuel which is then just igniting. Nothing to really worry about as you don't normally just stand a bike reving it.

But I'm now confused as to what your actual problem is, would you like a fresh set of eyes on it?

1- Starts fine with the choke on, choke works this time
2- Same thing, revs go up and then stop
3- As in video, doesn't tick over at all

To be honest, I plan on just waiting until it's warmer, and seeing if that changes, and either way, going on a ride-out, where I'm surrounded by much more knowledgeable people that myself, and probably my mechanic (in terms of SV's) and hoping it happens so I can show everyone.
I havent watched the youtube vids, its not something daft like its only firing on one cylinder is it ? Do the headers coming from both the front & back cylinder both get hot ?
