My tent and camping mat on the way to AR10.
Camping mat was trashed, but ten was fine. Sent the wife to collect it from where I'd left it, but it had gone ![]() New bungy straps for this year, new tent ![]()

That reminded me of the mat I lost and on the way home from Soho I lost a four pack. I was gutted.

Myself I once lost my fairings on the motorway. Riding over your own plastics at c.120mph is an interesting experience I would recommend against. |

Lost my numberplate on the way to Brussels for a day trip, ended up riding there and back with a cardboard/marker pen made up one, taped to the tail tidy!

All sorts, the worst was a sensor package which was recovered a couple of months later through pure luck. These days I have the Spot attached to that particular case.
I have also had a score or two along the way when something has fallen of the back of a vehicle... or was thrown out of a window. The most recent was a 3-4 month old Jack Russell bitsa missing a lot of skin. He was found sitting by the side of a track out in the middle of nowhere looking very miserable. He has turned into a good little dog that has taken ownership of the bike... and me. He won't be left at home and has become a decent, for his small size even against other Jacks, bike security system when on the road. |

I lost my big fat mate Graham the Union Rep who was riding pillion, when I dropped the Clutch to wheelie away from some lights in Acton High Street in 1982 on my GSX 250 speed machine. It was actually the last time I saw him, and the last time he spoke to me. He refused to get back on, and got the 207 Bus home apparently. Nice bloke, no sense of fun.

I managed to lose my rear seat cowl on my SV. Was only 3 months old at the time. Was heading down the A77 towards North Harbour Suzuki to get its first 600 mile service and when a got off I realised I had no cowl. FAIL!!!
Had to pay £90 for a new one, Argghhh. I also managed to lose my Shoei Helmet bag because I never closed my ruck sack properly and it must have flew out. God knows where and I hope it didn't scare any other road users. FAIL!!!
