Re: Left rear indicator issue

I've got an SV650S K5. In 2018 @ 21k the front headlights stopped working with no full beam indicator either. Beneath the airbox snorkel are black, green and yellow multi connectors.

I've removed...

Re: SV650S K3 smaller battery

I fitted a Varta YT-12B as it was the same price as the original (£34 posted last year), thinner with two more amps and extra CCA. I used a piece of wood to fill the gap.

Re: Superglue'd heated grip... like a wally!

When fitting my Oxford analogue hot grips I'd tried to trim the triangular bit off the throttle tube, with a ruddy chisel. Tap, tap, tap - clink - bugger! It went through to the bar beneath. So in...

Re: HEL brake lines (Pointy - Faired)

Received a while back thanks, just going for the worlds slowest caliper rebuild with Asda's finest £3 brake fluid. :D

Quick question, all of my 5 original banjo bolts are the same size...

Re: Curvy gear lever fit Pointy?

Just had a look on their site (http://fixer-peg.co.uk/), they've got a fit at home 'replacement peg' from £4, nice. (Fixer peg is £20)

Re: K3 Battery Woes?

Bah my battery wouldn't work either. I tried starting about 10 times, but the dash started to cut out. I took out the headlight fuse for extra power, but no luck.

I've just spent 4hrs with an old...

Re: car oil?

I've seen on SVrider.com that a lot swear by Shell Rotella T (fully synth) as it's cheap and sort of multi-purpose so has no friction modifiers. Myself I've tried Shell Advance VSX 10w40 semi...

Re: Reduce Force of Throttle Return Springy Thingy

When I adjusted the throttle free play with the cable adjusters (lever side) on my SV650S pointy, setting them incorrectly would make it return slower or stick. I dunno if you can ride it like that...

Re: SV650 SK9 Eating Oil

The manual says to check the oil level like this:

1. Start the engine and run it for a few minutes.
2. Stop the engine and wait 3 min.
3. Hold the motorcycle vertical and check the oil level in...

Sump washer

Just drained the oil and the sump washer I got from the local H*nda dealer doesn't look right at all. It's got a hump on one side, it's the size of a 5p coin and the hole is wider than the bolt. Are...

Need a new throttle tube

Re: Handguards for a faired pointy

The guards touch the dash, but it must only be by a couple of mm as if you push the bars a bit harder they eventually reach the stops.

I think I read elsewhere that you can move the levers...

Re: The cost of tax winds me up.

Bah, just got my renewal in the post. It's £66 (or £36 for 6 months), seems to go up £2 each time so far. I wish they'd change the 'over 600' category to 650+.

Re: Getting rid of small scratches

My bike came with a similar scratch on the tank, I buffed it for a while with T-cut and it's now much less obvious. It sort of looks like a light indentation in the lacquer as opposed to a white mark...

Re: Question about oil level

My 99 - 05 Haynes says the same as above ^. (Doesn't mention if for curvy/pointy at all though).

My K5 manual only shows 2300ml oil, 2700ml for oil & filter. (Doesn't mention overhaul)
The '03...
