I am about to pick up an Sv650S with twin Renegade exhuasts is it normal for them to pop when you hit the rev limiter?
Or would this indicate a possible fueling or sparking fault? |

Stop hitting the rev limiter.
Ergo, problem solved. ![]() |

Ive never heard an SV hit the limiter BUT when I was in the isle of man on the mountain section watching bikes there were a fed RSV's hit the limiter and they had some massive backfire so id imagine its normal mate.
I did once rev my bike to the limiter at standstill with no exhaust on now I come to think about it and it put out a 2ft blue flame and did go Bang pretty good ![]() But Dan is right, stop hitting the limiter, it aint good for the bike. A LOT of stress on the engine. |

Not tried with twins yet but my single did.
Would try to keep off the limiter but yes its normal for it to pop a little when it hits. You may even get a little burble on the over run, this is fine but to much indicates that there is an air leak in the exhaust. If this goes unchecked you will blow the exhaust apart, but its fun getting there! |

It does... but only when the exhaust is hot after some 'sprinted' riding
