Torque Wrenches again
since my last one got stolen so i'm in the market for a new one. i have narrowed it down to 2 options. 1st being halfords 3/8'' drive one (i had one of these before and it was fairly good but not that great at low torque settings) as i can just nip into halfords and pick it up. 2nd option is a digital Sealey 3/8'' STW308 this one has a massive range of 8-85nm which sounds perfect. having never used a digital before i was wondering what they are like to use.

Re: Torque Wrenches again
Not one you've narrowed down, but bought this one on offer at Demon Tweeks the other day - http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/tools-...3lb-ft-stw1011
Sealey 3/8 drive 7-112nm range for £22.50. It seems pretty good so far, comes with a calibration certificate |

Re: Torque Wrenches again
i looked at that one as i liked the dial on the top but it only goes down to 20nm and since i only use a torque wrench on things like disc bolts it wont work.

Re: Torque Wrenches again
Hmm that Sealey one from Demon Tweaks looks jolly decent for the price. I need a torque wrench as well as I cant keep travelling 30 miles just to use my brothers every time...

Re: Torque Wrenches again
Forgot to mention, price is ex. VAT . Came to £35.70 including postage, which still isn't too bad.

They do one that goes down to 5nm and do a tiny 1/4" drive unit

Re: Torque Wrenches again
yup but i use 3/8'' most of the time well up till about 22mm socket after that its 1/2''.
i only really need it for discs and a few other bitz'n'pizez as i dont really like using them and especially so on old nuts/bolts. |
