only trouble with vw is service costs, budget about 3 times what a transit will cost to keep on the road, or buy a renult but sell it before its out of warranty as they tend to go wrong soon after

I like the transits I have driven and they are the only van I have had which doesn't feel underpowered. |

My neighbour has a 2002 movano in the last 6 months he's had the complete brake system replaced at the cost of a couple of grand and then he needed a recon engine put in just a month later. I've had my transit about a year now only things to have gone wrong was a leaking rear wheel cylinder and the fan belt snapped at the beginning of November and it needed a heater resistor thats it. Not bad for something thats covered nearly 150k and is 10 years old! But I suppose it depends on your budget and what size van you need ?

Again I've only had bad experiences with transits, mostly driven vivaro's and the Nissan twin (don't know the name) and never had any issues accept punctures
I had one years back for getting the sv about. Yes you can fit one in the back if you take the number player off. And it will still go off the clock |

You can also fit a cosworth v6 in a transit so that makes them pretty quick, I also know of someone fitting a Toyota supra engine to am old mk2 transit so about 350bhp as standard!!!!

Ive had a number of vans in the past, Ive had a
High top, long wheel base transit. Short wheel base transit. Peugeot Partner (old shape and new shape) Vauxhall Astra Sport Van. And now I have a Vauxhall Vivaro. Id recommend all of them aart from the Astra, its rubbish! My Vivaro has a solid metal bulk head! |
