I can

But it took me 4 years of hard pratice before I finaly did. Its not faster and its not slower. I disagree with the more dangerous comments, like speed its all about an appropreate use.

Was much better at it last year, just a little out of practice due to my new job/ route to work. I went for the yes any speed vote but I wouldn't do it at less then 30 'cause countersteering don't really work below those speeds!

I dont want to sound like a show off tw*t, but i can get my knee down anytime, anywhere:

T-junctions
Crossroads
Sweeping bends
Left and right leg
Roundabouts.

It certainly slows you down on the road 'cos your concentrating on not clipping your knee on cats eyes. Did it once won't be doing it again

It can be usefull to gauge how far over you are though

I can but don't bother anymore. Definite on the whole slower. Crashed twice whilst getting knee down.

Once on a dodgy bit of road and the other when a lorry pulled out on me at a round about and subsequently ran over my leg.

Cheers
Ben

Yup, I have to say that after 18 years of biking I can get my right knee down at any time it's appropriate.
My left knee takes a little extra effort and is rather uncomfortable so I don't do it that often.

Generally because I'm getting on a abit, the left knee is the dodgy one and all this kneeling down and getting up again is a bit of a chore. I'd far rather be riding my bike!

So no, I can't get my knee down, I don't try I just ride. I have sliders etc on my leathers but I strangely proud of their pristine state.
Maybe, years from now, I'll put them on ebay as a 'new' set.

The crossroad and t junctions are never somewhere that i have considered getting a bike really leant over, i find there to much crap on then normally and i woudnt really fell safe. Apart from that i can get both knee down on the twisties roundabouts etc. I have never had the confidence to do it a much higer speeds on the road because i have on tracks and i know how fast you have to go but i have only been riding three years so maybe with time.

Apart from any of the faster/slower stuff its good fun and makes good photos
