I'm not posting the route...no point, it's a public forum. There are brief details on the details thread though!

As for leader, yes...Hovie baby in spirit on Boris. But behind him will be Stretchie and his super sat nav showing us all where to go. Actually, he doesn't need the sat nav, he knows the roads like the back of his hand!

We have plenty of markers and all will be wearing bibs. Full details will be given as you arrive at the venue :-)

Kate is hoping to be ready to ride it this year as she has been taking the SV out occasionally. She is a little nervous so will probably need a little help and support, and maybe even a riding companion for some of the ride-out (I will be dutifully looking after her for the first part of the day).

Oh, and in the immortal words of Bear... "If anyone buzzes Kate...I will F**K YOU!" :D

Iffy, you're best bet is to PM _Stretchie_ as he's the rideout leader and he'll be most able to help you, but we're not posting the route up here as it's a public forum. The route will be available when you arrive at the venue on the Friday though, so if you can call your brother then, you'll be able to organise something that way :-)

Not had a problem with police in the areas we are going so far, I think that's more north Wales.

Having said that I have seen them parking right up behind hedges with their little guns out, which is a bit cheeky, BUT

if you aren't speeding
don't have a postage stamp sized plate
or a bazooka for an exhaust
Then you should be aaaallllrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrright

went away with the better half this week to do a dry run to get ready for the AR.
Found a lovely little campsite down a tiny country road and set up for the night.
NOTE to self....next time look over the hedge and see if there is a 24 hr petrol station-cafe and two huge scrap yrds that start up at some unearthly hour in the morning.
Now Im going to google earth the AR site to see whats over the hedge.

No need Rick, there's nothing to be found :-)

There's a road that runs along the length of the field, but it's 30-40 yards away from the camping field, behind big thick hedges and trees and we never heard any noise from it when we were there.....with the exception of motorbikes :-) It's not a major road, so you won't notice it...just the lovely scenery behind it! :-)

Ok, already asked one daft question and here it goes with another :p, so now decided that we will get wet, is it worthwhile forking out for waterproofs for over leathers or will they survive enough?

Cazza
16-07-10, 06:11 PM
is it worthwhile forking out for waterproofs for over leathers

Yes, yes and yes!

You don't have to get anything fancy - but once your leathers get wet, it won't take long before you're soggy too. Plus, once they're wet, it's unlikely they'll dry out properly in a tent.

Make sure you have waterproof gloves, a spare pair, waterproof boots, and waterproof top and bottoms to chuck over your leathers. Riding when soggy feels horrible and really affects your concentration and body temperature.

you don't even need to make a special trip to an HG, just go into any outdoor shop and you should be able to pick up a pac-a-mac jacket and trousers for about £15-£20 i would think.
