There will be no fire this year. Hotel says no so Cheryl says no....we won't need it though!
I hope "fire" doesn't include BBQs......

Each to their own, however there is as per the food thread a catering van doing food all weekend. So something for everyone.

Although, apparently the drunker and more shattered he is, the better he understands me so it is my intention that, obviously apart from when he is riding the bike, I will keep him drunk and then we can have in depth conversations!:smt046

Ooooh the cheek
Bill's a really good rider. Took to riding on the left like duck/water. And on the way south the S'bury by pass was really busy so I started to filter. Wasnt sure if Bill would follow as 'lane splitting' is illegal in the US, but there he was right behind me, so we filtered down the entire length of the traffic, maybe a mile or more. I think he rather liked it:D

Yeah but in the US they have superduper highways with lanes as wide as our motorways! right???
Yeah but in the US they have superduper highways with lanes as wide as our motorways! right???They aint that big, but you are allowed to overtake on the left and right. I done over a thousand miles in the US, and i have to say that driving on thier Highways is quite relaxinng. They mostly stick to the speed limit give or take 5mph which is nice, unlike our motorways, where you can have a speed differential of 50mph+

Was supposed to be putting my tent up this morning cos its never been out of the bag and didnt want to arrive to find bits missing or big holes in it, but its pi$$ing down at the moment :-(
Will go and start packing a few bits instead, yay!!!
Anyone know how boggy the site is likely to get if it rains, not sure what footwear to bring. Oh these life altering decisions...
Cant wait to meet you all!! I might even have a beer or three Saturday night but i'm a real lightweight and cant hold it so after a couple I cant be held responsible for my actions...:p:p

It won't get boggy as with not having had any decent rain for so long, the water will just sit on the top. It'll eventually get soaked in, but it'll take a week of stormy rain to get it anywhere near boggy :-)
One important question.
Can i pass myself off as a kid or a dog please and does anyone want to give me free beer and food?

I would also like to add that the van, with bikes and various "essential" accessories, have been parked in a secure compound, and boxed in by other vehicles to keep them safe!! :D
I'm now on holiday. Have noticed my rear tyre is past it's best so a last minute dash out tomorrow to get a new hoop. Expense I could do without but can do without three points even more. Practice run with the packing tomorrow. Shouldn't be too bad seeing as tent is not a requirement this year. :)

Ouch, this AR lark is expensive...
Cost so far £435...
However it does mean that the Zed has new boots (Storm Ultras), brake pads all round AND a new chain and sprockets on it.
The price of putting off/delaying doing stuffs when you cant afford it really, the chain should have been done 250 miles ago (3 months in time), the front tyre was ok, but may not have been at that moment when a nice Welsh Policeman decided to look at it at the weekend :p.
And with pads that were getting low, was a no-brainer to just swap them when the wheels were out anyway.
So, I'll be the one with the "All beer donations gratefully recieved" t-shirt and the begging bowl at the weekend :P
Hehe

Well tonight i shall be refitting my HID kit to my bike as its on its way back from being repaired, bolting on the rentec rack, checking oil and packing, then loading up the ipod and phone with tunes :)

Had my bacon and egg buttie, bike fuelled, car loaded, except for Dave and Gemma's stuff, about to fill with diesel.
Question, it is hammering down here.
One piece leathers are in the car in case the sun does shine, do I wear textiles or two piece with waterproof suit.
Either way it looks like I may arrive somewhat moist.
I know its last minute but im thinking of setting off this afternoon and coming down, any chance some one who is going or one of the organisers can pm me there number so I can have a quick crack about things before i set off!
If you see me please say hi as I dont know anyone lol!!! :D

Got in at 10:18 last night. Absolutely f**ked. .....we left at 2pm.
Have no knees left but the rest of me made it home.
Special thank you's go to:
Verna for taking my stuff and being an awesome travel buddie in the car down there ("the water from my radiator is not leaking... it's just overflowing") - plus for having her boobs on show at every given opportunity!
Stretchie for not laughing too hard at my attempt to put my tent up and mucking in when i gave up on it. You've taught me that the poles go on the outside tent bit. I'll cherish that knowledge forever.
Supervox for his pillion seat on the rideout and delivering me safely back to my alcohol.
Josh for being a star and giving me the motivation to watch him put down my tent.
Rictus for delivering me home safely, allbeit a very long and gruelling journey back. Did i mention i have no knees?
Everyone for being so brilliant and up for a laugh.
The organisers, markers, free tea people etc, etc, etc.
