that looks evil love the zorst :D
I've just had that there 'Zorst off and there's about an inch of packing left right at the very end. :) Its going to Simmi performance in the morning to see about repacking because for the life of me I can't get it apart.
C
Hindle can was repacked today by Simmi Peformance (http://www.simmiperformance.co.uk) for a ridiculously good £15 while you wait service. Its not worth getting your hands dirty for that and that included packing and rivets. Top Job! Highly recommended.
And best of all, its no quieter :) I can claim its been done of anyone asks, but its still a meaty monster :D

Not sure but I think I saw this bike advertised a couple of years ago and they said the bodywork was from the wcm gp bike, or at least a replica of it.
It'll look cracking with a new paint job though. Not a rattle can job this time please ;-)
Hey Gordon. Well its a wafer thin carbon fibre jobbie so I could belive its off a GP bike. The one that's on the bike now is kevlar I think. I've had no joy tracking the maker down though. Both the one on the bike and the spare have had a hard life and will be getting the Gok Wan treatment and looking good naked till I get time to fix them.
Anyhoot, The vast sum of work on the Bucket II -The Sequel this week has been to fit a new clutch lever, a new Clutch lifter mechanism and to swap the pointy handlebars for curvy ones (lower and allow you to change the angle. Different bar end fitment too). I've also changed the clutch lever mount to a GSXR one as its a soupcon sexier :). Oh, I changed the fork springs too but as these will be going off as soon as YC Suspension Ltd. opens its doors for Voodoo injection, that's nothing to write home about.
I thought about washing it too, but then is ****ed down. :)
More fiddling at the weekend.... and yet another new bike will be joining the stable...
More soon.
C
Right, Just another 400 things to pack and get off to the post office than then I'ge got the rest of the weekend for tinkering :)
On the to do List:
Strip and rebuild rear end and put spanky new spring on Ohlins shock.
Make a new exhasut bracket underneath the engine so the exhaust doesn't rub on the swinging arm.
All the fairing off and a complete cleand from front to back and tip to bottom.
Check pads and calipers,
Check wheel bearings,
Replace race brake fluid.
Drop Oil and fill with new race oil and a filter.
Check steering head bearings.
Check Air filter.
That should keep me busy for a couple of days :) Full pics to follow...
C
In a particularly freezing garage the spanners were twirling yesterday and things finally got done.:)
First thing on the list was to strip and rebuild the rear end and change the shock spring.
The good old bike chock and block and tackle were employed again..
With the bodywork off and the bike in the chock the work can begin...

http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/rebuild2.jpg
The back end magically hovering!...
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/rebuild3.jpg
Everything off...
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/rebuild4.jpg
Swinging arm coming out..
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/rebuild5.jpg
Sexy Ohlins SU3040 stripped, cleaned and ready to receive the new spring...
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/rebuild6.jpg
New Spring on after a bit of a hoo-har with spring compressors.
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/rebuild7.jpg
and then everything greased and back on the bike. The bearings were in surprisingly good nick and only needed a finger of the slippy stuff.
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/rebuild8.jpg
It was then on to the poorly battery holder which, made of aluminium and being far too thin for the job it has/design they used, had fractured at both mounting points. So a new plate was made that will be attached to the back of it, to strengthen it up and also a third mount point will be added, to stop vibration cracking.
Also the radiator is off and the new one is ready to go on along with the battery holder, later this morning.
Pics coming up as soon as the camera defrosts :)

Top bombing, looking good dude - thanks for posting your progress.
No Problem :) Its going to be great to re-read the whole thread in the middle of snowy Feb. knowing the season is justa round the corner :)
So, Onwards.
OK, a bit of a warning. When you buy a "new" radiator in its box, remember to actually take a look in the box to make sure he isn't shafting you... You know whats coming don't you?
I opened my "New radiator, still in the box to find this...
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/rebuild15.jpg
The one on the top is the old knackered one thats supposed to be being replaced with the "New one", which is in significantly worse nick than the one its supposed to replace (bottom).
Now shopping on Ebay for a New New one :(
Anyhoot,
The battery holder is now looking a lot better and started out looking like this, this morning...
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/rebuild10.jpg
which will be attached to this piece of 3mm alloy (twice as thick) which is going to be vibration protected and pop riveted to the original...
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/rebuild11.jpg
Lines up behind..
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/rebuild12.jpg
and then add the anti-vibration gunk...
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/rebuild13.jpg
and squidge them together before pop riveting and mounting on the bike...
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/rebuild14.jpg
More coming soon, I need a coffee to warm my fingers..

bloody hell mate
That rad is even worse than it looked on the bike.
PM hindle to see if he ain't sold the rad off his pointy yet.
yorkie_chris
14-11-10, 03:43 PM
That rad of hindle's is f***d
What seems like an age later and lot of fiddling, the battery box is in. It turns out that maths takes on an entirely different reasoning in that garage.
Usually 46-3 = 43 but in the garage of Wierdness, it turns out its 42.
and 4.5 is not and its 4.1 and 5.25 isn't and its 4.8. But sometimes things are just wierd and you have to go with the flow! :)
So heres the new and improved battery box going on...
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/rebuild16.jpg
Note the strengthening rivets and also the mount to the engine studs on the lower left side.
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/rebuild17.jpg
ands the tie wraps through ready to hold the battery still...
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/rebuild18.jpg
Sexy new battery in place...
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/rebuild19.jpg
and then finally rewired. I had to reroute a couple due to the height difference between old and new battery, but its in there sweet now. Along with the two horizintal tie wraps there's also a one cones over the top and the starter solenoid also has one so it doesn't feel left out.
Fiddly job all done! :)
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/rebuild20.jpg
Time for tea!

That rad of hindle's is f***d
Always worth a shot.
Was going to suggest using a curvy rad but that would be undersized for the pointy system
I'm happy to say that the bike and all the paraphenalia is now packed into the van and I now have a workshop in Edinburgh so I'll be able to pootle around in the garage as much as I like instead of a 4 hour round trip, to do anything.
Expect lots more updates in the near future. I'll be working on it most nights :)
No, I don't have a life :)

looks quality dude :D
and enjoy the garage lol
Finally had a day off and of course it was spent making Minitwins :)
Got a fair bit done today but other things took up too much valueable time.
I entered the garage to find this from wherew I left off last week.
A quick update sees the rear end completely rebuilt, the rad off and on, the battery tray removed, fixed and refitted and a whole lot of other gubbins.
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/fix3.jpg
So today, the plan was to start somewhere and see how far I got.
First off was the air filter that I'd previously removed and that got a good clean in Muc off and squeezy followed by a good rise in water and then onto the radiator to dry. there was a good cup full of kitty litter in there from previous sight seeing that was also removed.
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/fix4.jpg
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/fix5.jpg
the K&N filter will be reoiled (with whatever comes to hand, probably 3 in 1 :) ) once its dry and then back in it goes. I don't hold up much hope of it being dry this week unless I get to bring it into the house.
Next I replaced some of the exhaust system with the sexy replacements. Its not ding and scratch free throughout and I lso solved the issue of the underseat exhaust rubbing on the swining arm with the simple addition of an extra spring to the frame. Now fully sorted and sounds absolutely incredible!
I've never heard an Sv sounds like this before. Its a very loud, rasp! :) Fab!
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/fix6.jpg
I got two of these exhasuts delivered this week and I'll be renovating them both, One I'll keep as a spare and the other is up for grabs. If a full hindle (std level) system is something you might be interested in, let me know by PM. These are *definitely* not road legal! :)
Next it was on to the bodywork. Now it's fairly safe to say that the bloke I bought the bike from was the most useless at using car body filler and fibreglass I've ever come across in my life. It looks like he's waitied for it to start setting before starting to apply it! Its a bloody mess, but half a packet of sanding pads and about three hours of work and its now prepared for ME to get the firbre glass and Isopon out and finish it off. This bike has been more colours than in Jason's Technicolour Yawn! I could save kilos by getting it back to the original primer!
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/fix7.jpg
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/fix8.jpg
I'll be doing both seat units at the same time so they can both be painted at the same time. Whick means twice the work! But luckily, I really enjoy preparing paintwork and find it very theraputic.
Unfortunately, at this time it was reaching minus 8 in the Garage so wet and dry was out of the question. :)
So with that out of the way, it was time to attack the front brakes. The rear caliper has already been done so it was down the the front.
First inspection was not good! Even the Spiders had moved in and made a nest! This photo is exactly why I'm checking this bike bolt by bolt before riding it!
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/fix9.jpg
I got a spare set of Performance Friction pads with the bike and they'lkl be going in...
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/fix10.jpg
and as it was minus 8, it was time for a cup of coffee and a big slice of Stollen (Lidle! Get some! Gorgeous!)..
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/fix11.jpg
Then it was on to stripping and cleaning the calipers.
This was the state of the "race pads" that were in!
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/fix12.jpg
I think these are just about done so I'll not be using them so if anyone wants them to have a muck around with, feel free. There's some meat left on them, but not much!
With the pads out the calipers look worse than they actually are. there's some surface rust but this will all clean up very nicely...
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/fix13.jpg
With the pistons out and cleaned these will be having a sneaky trip to the Dishwasher tomorrow when the landlady goes to work :) in true Husk03 style :)
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/fix14.jpg
It was at this point the camera decided that minus 8 was too cold to keep goingt and gave up but I did a little more and both calipers are ready for their spin in the dishwasher and reassembly.
I'm now off to find Husky03's thread on how to free the sliders off because they are pretty rough.
A plan may be to put the calipers from the Bucket on there as they have already been serviced and are ready to go. Can anyone confirm the calipers for the pointy and curvy are the same? They look identical.
More this week because I'll be doing a bit each night.
Pip Pip!

should have just stuck the curvy rad on there, smaller less likely to get damaged if the fairings get ripped off
ps i still want that exhaust  although fitting could be an issue
Well, I've got a full Hindle low level one that'll go straight on yours. You'll get pulled by the plod in second though. :)
I'll be havinmg them shortened slightly and re-sleeved in Stainless and they'll be like new :)
Can anyone tell me if the pins on the calipers to the calipers mounts (with the rubber boots) are supposed to slide? Cos these one's ain't. and if they are, how do you get the buggers apart without damaging them?
Cheers,
C

Nice to see the previous owners repairs being removed.
On the the brakes the buckets working ones should fit as they are the same caliper design (still being used after 15 years) the Glides/ mounts maybe different but would fit the curvy items.
I want to here that free flowing hindle after a service.
barwel1992
05-12-10, 09:38 PM
yes they are supposed to slide :)
id love a full system but it has to be high level and then id need a remap that the only thing stopping me from getting one £100+ for system £125+ for remap
so for now i will just do the busa piston swap ;)

Yes they should slide with some resistance. Mine pulled apart with alot of effort, bang it in a vice push the caliper off

The pointy calipers Ifitted courtesy of Nobbylad were a straight swap so your bucket ones should do the same.
On the French Suzuki bits fiche the curvy ones no longer available & they tell you to use pointy.
HTH
Calipers all done and new pads in (diswasher worked a treat! :)
Air filter is re-oiled and back in. Started first push so must have done it right! :)
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/fix18.jpg
Not that much left to do now:
1) Voodoo the forks (in progress)
2) Change the oil and filter (going with Castrol T4 race again and K&N filter, on its way)
3) Check the valve clearances Middle of next week
4) Fit new Irridium plugs
5) Rub down and fill bodywork (started)
6) Fit sexy seat foam (on its way)
7) Paint it!
8) Dyno it
9) Fit Horn!
...
10) RAG IT on the first available track day! :)
Hopefull done by Xmas!
C
Jusat found a photo of the Bucket before it went down the track! This is the only photo there is of the new... "unblemished" colour scheme and one of only about 8 laps completed....

Is it March yet??
Well, It finally returned to positive temperatures so the bodywork preparation has taken on a new urgency!
5 hours of filling and sanding done today and I'll get some pics up tomorrow.
Its starting to come together. The Paint will be ordered tonight :D

A few of us are doing a trackday in Feb, dont know where or when yet. on the last one we arranged there was a load of CB500's and minitwins from Thundersport and it was a cracking day.
andrewsmith
30-12-10, 06:12 PM
You never see a brown racebike, do you?
well...
normally when the words; OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHH SSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...
Like a sort of purply green swirl.
NOT! :)
Similar to what it had but done properly with a few more bits and pieces.
No photos to post becasue I've spend another 4 hours just rubbing down and there's no real "progress" to show. I have however removed 4 previous layers of paint and used a full pot of P38! But we are definitely getting there now.
All of the gash that was on there is now beautifully filled and smooth to the touch. I find prepping paintwork very theraputic.
So the two fairing side panels and the two tail units are now just about done. The nose fairing is on its way and then just the two belly pans left to do.
Hopefully pain wiull be here early next week so I can give it a quick once over with the rpimer to see where I've still got work to do.
And I can tell you now that two full sets of (mangled) bodywork is a hell of a lot or rubbing down :) Especially as its all got to be done with five grades of wet and dry!
Definitely Pics up tomorrow!
C
... Or maybe the next day :)
FINALLY I got the camera working.
So, the grand total of nearly a weeks filling and sanding, filling and sanding, filling and sanding (repeat to exhaustion! :) )
Here's the battle I was facing. Multiple road-bike interfaces had left the bodywork in a little bit of a mess...
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/fix7.jpg
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/fix8.jpg
... and these aren't the worst by far!
So after a bit of TLC we now have...
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/fix018.jpg
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/fix019.jpg
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/fix20.jpg
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/fix021.jpg
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/fix022.jpg
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/fix023.jpg
Now I was seriously considering just laquering these like this for that go faster "lived in urban look" but thought better of it.
A lot more sanding and filling later and I was ready to put a basic primer coat on to see how much more work there was and to highlight any areas that i'd missed. Turns out I'd missed quite a lot :)
So the mudguard was the first to be finished because there was least wrong with it. In fact, its the only panel that didn't have anything wrong with it!
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/fix34.jpg
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/fix35.jpg
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/fix36.jpg
So all of the primer will be removed with the old wet and dry again and the final filling and smooting done.
Hopefully the paint should be here by the weekend so I can give it the final once over. (which will probably end up as a lot more than once :) )

Fingers now stumps after that marathon session of wet n dry?
Would they be a certain mans scrub pirelli's?
Nope, those are just about everybodies scrubs. i've been buying from all over since the season closed :) I also got some with the bike.

It is! I'm painting my Helmet with it, in your honour! (Erm, no, I'm not! orange helmets court controversy!) :)
I'd just like to point out ITS TOO COLD TO BE STANDING OUTSIDE DOING WET AND DRY!
I'm freezing! :)
Coffee and a bit of Rugby should do the trick ;)
C
Well, there's another 5 hours of rubbing over and I think we're down to pin-prlck level now. Just the tiny bits left to fill and sand then I'll give it another quick dusting with the primer to check the results.
Hopefully the weather will be dry enough tomorrow to sort it out.

looks like you have had fun :D i would love to do this, but age/money is against me :(
if you are ever racing down the south give me a shout, would love to come along and see :)
Glad you enjoyed it! It took almost a year to write, I hope it didn't take that long to read :)
We race with guys who are almost 80 so age isn't an issue. Jusy go and rob a post office and you'll be set (and in case the CIA or MI6 are reading this too, no, I didn't mean that and you should be racing too instead of spying on people :) )
I'm off to have a fiddle with Photoshop and see if I can't tweak the paint design any.
C
C,
Have you got a link to the racing schedule for this year? Might head to East fortune again :)

You'd learn a hell of a lot more useful stuff in the University of Life that is the Minitwin paddock.
And it would be a lot cheaper.

agreed and the drinking is near university standards...
well in berlins paddock :)
Rain stopped play! :(
So please stop raining!:p
C
Well, its still raining so it was about time the Thermostat came out.
The indupitable Mr Smith lent me his fancy Front paddock stand which makes things a lot more stable (thanks Andy!). A car jack under the sump isn't a long term solution :)

So, First thing is Airbox off and there's a dozen fiddly bits to take care of just to get it off. then drain the winters Antifreeze out of the bike.
Then come the throttle bodies which is just a couple of turn of a screwdriver.
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/painting11.jpg
and then the thermostat housing is relatively accessible.
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/painting12.jpg
Pull out the thermostat...
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/paining13.jpg
and then remove it...
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/painting14.jpg
and they say the thermostat doesn't restrict flow! Just look at the junk in there! So gave it a clean out and now I'll give the whole engine a few flushes with water to get out the last of thre antifreeze and clean out the sludge!
Much better!...
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/paining15.jpg
Pop everything back on and its good to go.
And just in time for the rugby coming on at 3 :)
C
Wet and dry finished! (thank god for that!)
Just drying out and then I'll stick the race awning up this week as a spray booth!

Just tyres to swap around and a truck load of stuff to get rid of on Ebay and we'll be ready to go.
Its going to be an exciting week!

That looks a dam sight better than in october.
Be happy to see it back together
Actually, looking at that it looks like I've just pulled half of them out of an estuary!
They'll look a lot better with the first "check" dusting of white primer.
C
I've just seen the visits tag for this thread! I can't belive its now 26,500! Thats incredible! Very humbling :)
C
Lets get this Party Started!
Spray booth (otherwise known as an Argos pop-up gazebo) all set up...
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/painting18.jpg
Lots of room to work all around each piece. I can also hang them from the ceiling and pop them on a post if required...
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/painting19.jpg
Patented panel and can warmer...
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/painting20.jpg
First light dusting of primer to check for "issues"
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/painting21.jpg
Next up is the nose fairing...
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/painting22.jpg
So far so good!
Coffee time!
C
NOOOOOOOOO!
Paint reaction! Looks like I'll be sanding the nose cone down to the gel coat!
C
Ok so thats the first coat of primer on there and there's still a little bit of work to do. I'll have to rub down at least one panel and fill a couple of holes, then get the lid of the primer can and spray some primer in there and use a tooth pick to fill in the tiny pin holes with a cocktail stick.
The rub the whole lot down with 1200 grade paper and add the second coat of primer before the final rub down before top coat!
Phew! Still a bit to do then! :)

But not before another cuppa!
Thats them all rubbed down with 1200 grade ready for the final coat of primer...
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/painting28.jpg
as soon as they dry...
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/painting29.jpg
Hopefully I'll have them all done and ready for top coat tonight. They'll then be done tomorrow after the primers had plenty of time to harden.
C
So here we go! All the panels are ready for their final primer rub down and then we're putting the fancy stuff on!
Trepidatious! (http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/trepidatious) (I love that word! :) )
I always get nervous at this part. I haven't got enough paint to do it twice (and I've spent two hours on photoshop this morning changing the design becasuse I might not even have enough to do it Once! :) )
The weather is perfect and we should get it all done today, bar the clear coat! Here's hoping!
ready to sand...
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/painting30.jpg
All rubbed down and dired out!
a few tips if you're painting:
1) If you're not wearing gloves, keep your fingers wet and DON't touch ANYTHING that isn't part of the job. Don't scratch your nose, wipe your face, itch your ear, touch your hair, door handles, or anything at all that could have oil or grease on it. Prepare so where ever you go the path is clear. Fingerprints ruin the job!
2) How much rubbing down is enough? On the last primer coat, there are two methods to ensure you don't miss anywhere. A) give the panel a really light dusting of the colour that's going to go on and then sand it all off with 1200 grade wet and dry. When its all gone you know you've covered the lot. and B) the method I use because I've doen this a fair bit and I've got multi coloured panels to do. Use the feel and hydrophyllic and phobic test.
I usually add a drop of squeezy to my water when rubbing down as it helps wet the surface and stop the dust from sticking when you wash it down. But in the last sanding I DON'T use the squeezy. Newly painted panels have a hydrophobic layer. Putting water on them doesn't wet them. it beads and runs off. Once you start sanding this is removed and the surface goes like wet glass. if any areas still bead, then they haven't been done. FINGERPRINTS also bead!! this lets you fidn them :) Second the noise changes from a loud hiss to a quiet hiss as you sand. If any areas have a loud hiss when you go over them, they need to be redone and finally on areas that are done the 1200 grade wet and dry glides as mooth as silk over the paint. If there's any resistance, its still too rough.
So anyway. To the spraying. The booth is warm, the paint cans are warm to the touch (not so the paint flows better, but to increase the pressure in the can. Higer pressure gives (much) better results. Keep warming the can as you spray as the can cools down rapidly as you spray. (latent heat of evapouration and all that).
And off we go. White first, then yellow then blue and then the fancy stuff. Alwasys spray lightest to darkest.
back later.. :)
C
Oh, yes! I like that! :D

All those paint fumes in that gazebo
The panels must be looking good!
Tank done. 3 coats and looking spanking! There are two minute pieces of dust that got passes the dustguard, but they will simply blow off when its dry.
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/painting31a.jpg
http://www.corporateflyfishing.com/images/minitwin/painting32.jpg
Just wet and dry that down once its fully cured tomorrow, so its like glass, add stickers and clear coat :)
Next, tailpieces and nose cone...
Next are the numberboards to match the tank. Usually these are added to an existing colour scheme and ruin it so I've brought yellow into the colourscheme so they don't :)
Nose cone all prepped...

and sprayed with first light coat. Two more to go...

You do know that bikes with paint schemes applied with a stick from 10 yards are 82% less likely to crash right?

You do know that bikes with paint schemes applied with a stick from 10 yards are 82% less likely to crash right?
by that logic yours is 4835% less likely to crash?
...and you know what my record for racing newly painted bikes is like? :D
Someone else can ride this first before I get a go... :)
last pieces with the yellow and then on to the next colour.
One of the problems with spraying in an Argos Booth is that its difficult to see the sag point of the new paint so i've doubled my lighting.

I aint saying anything that will jinx it!
Want me to thrash it cadwell then? :smt040
Just pulled the tape off the nose fairing and hit the sag point* absolutely perfectly! Best I've ever done :) Whoohoo!
*Sag point. The point at which you pull the tape off and the edge relaxes to form a beautiful rounded edge. Pull it too early and the paint creeps under the tape. Pull it too late and the tape lifts the paint leaving a raggy edge.
Marvelous! :)

Looking good. How much did all the tins of paint cost??
There's a bloke selling them for £3 a tin on ebay (http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/redex60/?_trksid=p4340.l2559)so that huge box full was £63 delivered (I think) and it looks like I'll have way more than enough to paint the bike *again* should "Someone" fall off it [-o<
Next on to the White...
Reverse masking (hoping like hell the previous yellow is dry enough to take the tape without pulling off :) )
Not very exciting... Spot the deliberate mistake... Luckily thats behind the pinstriping so I'll get away with it! Phew!

Next is Orange so that'll be a little bit more visually stimulating! :)
Edit: One more coat of white and that'll be it today. its gettin too damp in the Argos Booth and I don't want to get Bloom because I hurried :)
It'll be finished tomorrow :)

should of just left them done in primer, you know to save weight ;)
narr paint can be used as crash bung :0) the more you use the less damage :0)
Ok, up and back at it! Looks like this morning is going to be spent with the wet and dry again. I might be popping over to Mad Tony's later on so we'll see how far we get.
So I swapped masking tape half way through the job and it might be a reaction with the adhesive on the tape. Tests ongoing. :)
And I'm pleased to say that this paint is about a million times better (Carplan and Holts) than the ****e in a can that Halfrauds sell as paint! Its relaxed over night and there's no need to wet and dry before the clear coat. Its a loverly finish!
Onwards and upwards...or sideways.

I'm looking forward to seeing the end results.
Ok, yellow rescued. But I'm not as struck on the colour (daytona yellow) as I was yesterday. It looks like mustard in the bright sunlight. Hardly the sunflower yellow I was aiming for.
... and the paint is reacting all over the place with whatever tat was previously on there. Good job its only a race bike :)
The Blue looks really nice though...
First dusting.
