HAHAHA @ my friend. He was installing a performance upgrade on his carbs and this happened. All in the name of one nasty screw that wouldn't come out after trying for 2 hours all the normal conventional methods. Ended up having to destroy the plastic cap over the carb (whatever that part is called)

One bike needed dust seals, the other a new clutch master cylinder, the EN needs its fork seals doing, as does the 750. All mounts up as you know.

Just building a 6 wheel drive, four wheel steered IR driven MOC rock crawling truck with my Technic Lego... Here I am, forty one next week and playing with Lego like a child. I won another six wheeled truck (set number 8446) super cheap on E-Bay last week and that took a couple of hours to build following the Lego Instructions. Suitable for ages ten to sixteen it says on the box, not a single mention of miserable old Grannies with bad backs anywhere!

Jayne there is nothing wrong with whiling away some time with what I still remember as Technical Lego. You can just make out one of the differentials, there are three on the model , one for each of the axles.

I also made one of these following a request from a friend, but it made me feel unclean and I took it apart as soon as it was finished. I am not sure that Lego would approve.

Replaced my Gladius license plate bulb.
I cannot believe just how convoluted it was, almost took as long as swapping out my clutch basket!

Remove seat.
Remove side panels (or as I did just pulled the x2 clips near the rear and left the panels on I've fitted crash bungs that i had to drill the side covers so I remove them only when absolutely necessary).
Remove back-box/pillion handles (x4).
Remove U shaped slip on cover.
Disconnect seat lock cable.
Disconnect indicator connector clips left & right, tail light connector & license plate bulb clips & feed the cables out of the ties etc.
Unscrew license plate (x2).
Unscrew under fender cover (x1).
Unbolt rear assembly (x4) and remove.
Unscrew both indicators (x2) and fish cables.
Unscrew bottom screws (x2) holding cover on (or in my case unscrew x1 & drill out the rusted one, then re-tap and hunt for a replacement screw).
Unbolt the license plate bulb assembly/reflector (x2).
Undo the screws holding the lens on (x2).
Unscrew the bulb, swear loudly before getting in the car to go to Halfords as you've picked up the wrong one yesterday then buy a pack of 207S 12v 5w (if this is the wrong bulb I'll hunt down that sales clerk), drive home & replace the bulb.

Then just do it all again backwards (barring driving to Halfords & drilling the screw) remembering to reroute the cables & clips as you go.

Simples.

Maybe time for a tail tidy!

The connector is on a clip under the door card, plus there's a rubber grommet to seat in the door framework.

Pretty sure my old Cavalier was an easy swap, just unscrew the fixings, and unplug like your Astra Sir Trev.

It's really not any harder than taking your old cams out and putting the new ones in. They can be used one of 2 ways. Like for like all the timing marks are exactly the same on pointy & curvy, so it's no harder than putting your old ones back. The other way is to use 2 sets of inlet cams, which is a little less straight forward. I've not done that as this is for a minitwin, if it was a road bike I'd be more tempted. Clicky (http://www.bayarearidersforum.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=154847).

1) Do one head at a time, the cams are marked INF,EXF,INR,EXR. Put them in the right places.
2) It may be worth getting hold of some K3 cam chain tensioners as well, though it's by no means essential. They really are a much nicer design.
3) Roll the motor over a few times and check the clearances again as you've changed one of the surfaces involved. In my case they were still fine but there you go.
4) Make sure you can get hold of cam chain tensioner gaskets. The front one usually tears. The rear may do too.

Sorry my question should have been a bit more precise. I've got that bayareariders blog on the cam swap, cheers.

Any tips on getting the ccts in and out?

Well, I used a narrow screwdriver and held it in place with a bit of tape but it was a bit of a fiddle. I'm planning on making one of these out of some thin metal as being able to just pull the tab out should free up a load of effort: http://www.svrider.com/forum/showthread.php?p=906763#/forumsite/20707/topics/63368?postid=906763

To remove them i just undo the 5mm headed Allen bolts and let the tensioner extend while undoing

I made a simple tool up today with a used can and some tin snips. 10 minutes well spent and reinstalling the front CCT was much easier with it in place.
