Hmm i think i was in year 4/5 in school. So about 9 or 10 years old. I remember a lot of fuss and the teachers talking to all the classes at once about it when it happened. Bloody terrorists. It was the ONE day that caused all the extreme security. Its amazing how much fuss it caused.
Although they are all extremely evil people involved in the plot, you have to admit it was very well thought out and executed.

In short, they terrorists had to become US citizens, trained how to fly commercial jets in the USA and then managed to use the kinves they took on board (maximum blade length of about 3 inches were ALLOWED on the plane) to kill a hostage and then used 4 others to forice down the pilots door.
The fourth plane was 'saved' by some of the passengers. They tried to overpower the terrorists, the pilot pannicked, shouted 'ALLAHH AKBAR' and crashed into a field. Everyone on the plane died, but if it was not for the brave passengers, the plane was headed to more populated areas where hundreds more could have died.

I'm sure most Project Managers would do too, to orchestrate that event must of taken a hell of a lot of forethought & determination.

Yeah, I feel the same. Again, no comparison in results but I used to work in fraud/crime prevention and if you don't have a healthy respect for the abilities of the opposition, you just lose. If this were as easy as some people will say, how come it didn't happen more often? Even recruiting and running a criminal/terrorist organisation is a mountain itself, never mind planning and executing the crime. But there's a huge gap between respect and admiration, it's not the same thing at all.

Anyway, interesting facts, interesting facts... My cat's breath smells of cat food.

fully fledged dirty civi now lol
they use money ,exrortion ,sympathisors and force to gain intel they also have no rules to abide by which the forces obviously do. their internal security is **** hot too with special interorgators who again do as they please , dont get me wrong the forces are good at what they do but to run a illegal organisation on the scale of the ira takes some serious planning and control

The whole crying-whilst-peeling-onions thing. An ex-girlfriend's grandma taught me how to peel onions so that you never cry, works to this day, so no need to chew gum as was posted a while back. Simply chop the top and the bottom root/sprout bits off first. Then make a shallow slice on one side of the onion anywhere you like from top to bottom, i.e. to form a line between the two bits you just cut off, peel off the outer brown skin and any layer of skin underneath that is starting to turn. Then chop the onion in half, again from top to bottom, put each half flat side down and chop down the lines of the onion as you see them from the outside of the skin. You'll get half rings as a result. Chop 'em anyway you want from there. I probably chop an onion a day and haven't cried, (whilst chopping onions), for about twenty odd years. FACT.

The other thing is the whole cows-lying-down-before-it-rains thing. It's cowsh*t. Many a time I've seen cows, whole herds of them standing in a downpour. Other times, they're sitting down in sunshine, with no hint of rain. I think they sit down when they want to because they feel like it or are generally tired or may want to read a book and need a hoof free, or whatever. I suppose technically a cow, at least in England, does sit down before it rains as it must rain at some point in the future, but that's not how the non-fact goes.

Jacqui Smith is related to Royalty - FACT. Her dad was King Edward, well, "a" King Edward. Aw c'mon, you can't tell me that somewhere in her direct family history a potato wasn't involved somewhere? Look at her face! Look at the shape of her head! I'm not sure what the beastiality equivalent of messing about with vegetables is, (suggestions welcome), but either her Mum or her Dad definitely f****d a tatty at some point which means that one of them WAS a tatty...IMHO of course.

The chess piece rook (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rook_(chess)) is shaped like a castle

A rook (♖ ♜, borrowed from Persian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persian_language) رخ rokh, Sanskrit (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sanskrit_language) rath, "chariot") is a piece (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chess_piece) in the strategy board game (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Board_game) of chess (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chess). In the past the piece was called the castle, tower, marquess, rector, and comes (Sunnucks 1970 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rook_(chess)#CITEREFSunnucks1970)), and non-players still often call it a "castle".[1] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rook_(chess)#cite_note-0) Each player starts with two rooks, one in each of the corners nearest their own side.
