Re: The All New Megathread

A quick five mile loop around The Rye (imagine a rec with about a dozen footie pitches on it) and after a tweak to move it forward and get the nose angle right it seems very nice. We now need to head...

Re: The all new, slap bang up to date photo of the day 2025

Isn't the NEX the forerunner to the A6xxx series? Sony does some pretty good glass for their APS-C cameras, assuming it takes the same E-Mount as my A6600.

Re: The All New Megathread

Nice ride out through Oxfordshire for a good four hours today. Stopped at the Suzuki dealer and booked Bullseye in for his first year service and meandered a very long way round to Oxford Triumph....

Re: The All New Megathread

Got back from a business trip to Bridgwter (Somerset) at lunchtime today. The Mercure we stayed at last night was nice but the windows did not open, so it was really stuffy. I got very little...

Re: Smile of the day - What is yours?

I safely deposited my mother at Victoria Coach Station and headed home for some peace and quiet! I've got my favourite armchair back, we can have dinner tonight at a sensible time (instead of late...

Re: The All New Megathread

We're between rain showers right now. Due to get a few hours more of it any time so we're stuck indoors. Ma's mobility isn't great so we're limited with options.

Right now we're getting on very...

Re: The All New Megathread

I'm very much a lowland or footpath type of walker, so support and comfort are a bit more important for me than extreme grip or climbing ability. Which means I can get away with the cheaper end of...

Re: The All New Megathread

We went for a walk around Coombe Hill today. It has a huge memorial to the Boer War at the top and some amazing views over the Vale of Aylesbury, Chequers (as in the PM's weekender) and Oxfordshire...

Re: Gripe of the day - What is yours?

Tourists. Pain in the backside. Don't look where they're going, block the whole pavement to take a photo, walk in a group five wide... I made the mistake of walking past Buck Palace today at five to...

Re: The Veg Plot.

Fingers crossed on the grafts Gary. Always worth a try anyway.

The forecasted rain might be coming our way early afternoon today, but it does not look like it so far. Which is good as I have to go...

Re: The All New Megathread

Dropping my bike onto other bikes is something I dread doing. Hope the other bikers were not too grumpy with the poor chap.

I had too many chores to do ahead of a royal visit (mum coming to stay...

Re: The All New Megathread

I gleefully switched the laptop off at 5 and headed outside at last. The latch is now back on the rebuilt fence/gate after a coat of Ducks Back. Looks very patchy but I'll put two more coats on it...

It seems the local badgers heard you and made a start on the digging last night...

The mess is just unreal. They've caused damage in the past, usually when we have an abundance of cockchafer grubs...

Re: The All New Megathread

The lawnmowers were out on Sunday mainly, with me joining in.

Every year I swear I am not going to be a slave to my lawn, and then I go and do this...

Re: Goretex and PFAS

I have a GT coat you can zip a fleece into, plus GT boots and winter(ish) gloves. All excellent bits of kit but silly expensive unless you wait till sale time as I usually do. May well look elsewhere...

Re: David Jones in Newtown

Longstanding shops seem to be closing at an alarming rate these days. I know brands do sometimes thin their suppliers every now and then but after the big cull of small, family owned Solus...
