 mind you, he's probobly got more now, one was on ebay for £17 the other day  I fitted a CPU fan on mine to stop it over heating in the summer when i changed mine Its pritty simple to test a reg if you have a multi meter, test them before you buy one or send it back if its a ebay one

meh... no get the correct reg / rec for the SV, stop trying to bodge round the problem with 2nd hand bits and bits off other bikes.
If you dont think the one you've got on there now came from an SV originally how do you think one from a GSXR is going to solve your problem. Do you like making life hard for yourself ?
