being over 40 does have its privileges..

car, if they even quote me anything near £200 FC i laugh down the phone at them nissan primera 1.8 sport.. i never claimed on my insurance in the 20 years i have had a car licence..

bike, got the bike in june even before i passed my test in august last year, so on a learner licence 0 no claims with a full power SV650 £175 FC. passed my test and they gave me £30 back...

BTW, i have never paid over £300 for insurance in my life, let alone £1000+ i feel really sorry for the youngsters these days...

I did some quotes a year ago and it was a joke what they wanted. For cars barely worth anything I could be paying the value of the car and more. I truly understand why some people drive without insurance.

I had this when I got my renewal through, I kept checking every few months online and it was consistantly £150 cheaper than the renewal that came through so I phoned the insurance company up and they readjusted the figure to that of the online quote. Same with the wifes car.
Oh and just to make you young'uns sick tis about £800 to insure an 03 Impreza WRX, mk1 golf cabriolet and the SV all together

Just a thought but have any of you thought about or tried insurance quotes for small car based vans i.e fiesta van etc. as these may well be cheaper as they have no back seats the insurance may see this as less occupant distraction/injury chance blah blah.

the thing with the small car type van is a lot of van insurance companies expect it to be used for business and not private use
