There are something like 3,000 cookbooks that have "family food" as part of or all of the title...lol. Think I'll stay away from that.
Don't need a title yet though. Will sort that with the publishers next year. This is purely for the purposes of being able to tell them what I would be happy as being marketed as. Lots of good suggestions, so thanks peeps ![]() Claire, have I got your creative juices flowing? |

I really like the idea of you pushing the tradition and importance of family values... families sitting round a dinner table and sharing their day is something I feel strongly about but sadly I feel it`s dying out due to busy working lives etc.
I really do like your ideas and I feel that what you`re recognising is the importance of food in our lives? Not just for nutritional purposes but for encouraging good family values and tradition, also for showing our appreciation for our friends by cooking them lovely dinners and again, having everyone together sat round a table and socialising. You`d be covering both of these by providing recipes for traditional home cooked food but the book will also contain recipes for when friends come over and you want something that little bit extra special. You`re also going one step further and saying that your recipes don`t need to cost the earth and that despite your financial circumstances theres a recipe that will suit your needs and you don`t need to worry because i`ve already worked out a recipe for 20 people that will cost x amount. Surely there has to be a niche somewhere in the market for a book like that? Jamie Oliver went down the road of promoting the importance of healthy school dinners, maybe you could go down the road of promoting the importance of family values and how to cook family meals that make meal times a social occasion. |

Claire, you have got it nailed there. Food can be as nutritious for the mind and soul as it is for the body.
The main reason people don't try new things at home is that they lack the confidence. Too many recipes assume that the person will know the difference between say, soft and firm peakes when whisking things or pouring and ribbon consistency of sauces. When people don't know, the anxiety increases as they worry that if they don't get it right, it will ruin the dish. Cooking should be easy. It should be a form of stress relief, not a cause of additional stress. I guess I want to be able to hold peoples hand and show them they can do it too. Lots of people are very very good home cooks, but there are far more people that will just choose what is percieved as being the easy option. Maybe, Cheryl - Kitchen angel ... lol ![]() |

![]() I like it! Kitchen Angel - Cheryl Bray Delicious, easy to fix recipes that can help you cut expenses. Little spoof at begining: Angel costume Cheryl teaching devil costume Cheryl how to cook. Little spoof at end: Angel Cheryl says, "That's all for today, see you next time", flash, turns into sexy she devil Cheryl and says, "It's bedtime now" ![]()

There have been rumors before regarding the appearance of a Ginger Wizard one.
