Default Regulator Rectifier

So the latest problem to strike (when im broke ,) is that my sv needs a new regulator rectifier, anyone know how hard these are to fit to a 99 curvy?
the guy said over the phone he would have to split the plastics or something i need a new battery aswell, this bike has spent more time in the garage than it has on the road lately.

going to have a look to see what he means, said it was difficult to explain over the phone, if its to bad im expecting everyone to chip in and buy me a new bike,

Replacing one is easy.

Remove the riders seat, pillion seat, and grab rail. Unscrew the rear plastics and lift the right hand side up so you can see the reg. Disconnect the reg and unbolt it. Installation is a reversal of the removal procedure.

Its a 10 minute job including replacing the battery.

Itts as easy as squirrel says. if you do get the itch to remove all the rear plastics so you can get in there and clean out assorted cobwebs and other junk like m ine have then please remeber this.... the lock for rear seat cable. make sure you see how it sits before you take it out of its holder as putting it back can be a wee bit fiddly.

Other tha that make sure you get a reg/rec from somewhere relaible as there is no visual way to see if its working or not.

Whilst you have all that plastic off, take 5 mins to check out the loom for chaffing, especially where it routes past the seat bolts etc.

Also buy a honda R/R and swap the connections over from your duff suzuki lump
