Richie, I'm disappointed, you've gone from a french classic to a Dagenham dustbin!

Hope the new heels were a bargain and last a long time.

PS when was the cambelt last changed on the Pug?

Well in that case... ;)

It's a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71 truck. This truck is outfitted with 4x4, Rancho suspension with a 4" lift, and BF Goodrich 'All Terrain' T/A tires on 16" Eagle Alloy rims. It has a 5.3 V8 engine with a dual exhaust. Complete with power windows and locks, automatic push button transfer case, keyless entry, roll-top box cover, and the LS chrome package. I've added the chrome step bars, box rails, wheel chalk for SVen, projector headlights with Sylvania Silverstar bulbs, chrome indicator bulbs, and the aftermarket billet grill. It did have window tint on the side windows but I received a few too many tickets...

Pug Wheel Refurb Pt1.

Well the car was loaded up with tyres, wheels and christmas presents and dragged its back end back to Holland:

http://inlinethumb35.webshots.com/44322/2770875510084392296S600x600Q85.jpg (http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2770875510084392296GNjqPP)

I then got started on the track wheels, they weren't too bad but had numerous scrapes and scratches which had been roughly touched up:

http://inlinethumb38.webshots.com/10021/2127603350084392296S600x600Q85.jpg (http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2127603350084392296XqHdeZ)

http://inlinethumb27.webshots.com/44378/2149429930084392296S600x600Q85.jpg (http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2149429930084392296zbJUoZ)

So with flapper wheels and wire brushes attached to my new drill I set about removing the paint and grime:

http://inlinethumb14.webshots.com/42957/2684283160084392296S600x600Q85.jpg (http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2684283160084392296zfuyzG)

http://inlinethumb45.webshots.com/42540/2462266260084392296S600x600Q85.jpg (http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2462266260084392296SYpfRR)

This was followed by a bit pf grit paper and some wet and dry (240) and some walloping out of the valves, they were soon ready for a rinse and a degrease with brake cleaner.

http://inlinethumb38.webshots.com/41509/2293185770084392296S600x600Q85.jpg (http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2293185770084392296swpvdL)

And then on with the 1st layer of filler primer this evening, done in the garage with a vague cardboard spray booth and the radiator on full. I opened the door to the kitchen and turned on the extractor fan to drag out the fumes. I'm not sure how effective that was as I'm still a little light heated.

http://inlinethumb42.webshots.com/43561/2871828630084392296S600x600Q85.jpg (http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2871828630084392296DEElIH)

http://inlinethumb46.webshots.com/44589/2835306520084392296S600x600Q85.jpg (http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2835306520084392296fXzHXC)

http://inlinethumb37.webshots.com/41508/2048180050084392296S600x600Q85.jpg (http://rides.webshots.com/photo/2048180050084392296CnXahg)

Once these have dried it will be a case of flatting back with some 1200 wet and dry before going for another coat of primer. Sorry there's no rocket science or anything amazing, it's probably a bit run of the mill for most of you out there.

Dam, I love Evos i have always wanted an Evo 9 the FQ400. But the new GTR is a serious car for the money.
Had a passenger ride in an FQ400 - very fast when the boost is up but quite lame while you are waiting! Top Gears test of it was showing an extreme example by leaving it in 6th gear but the lag is dreadful!

I took an L plate Evo II to Austria between Xmas and New Year, awful abused example of the breed that one was. It got us there... just. We used 2 litres of oil on the 1000 mile drive and the clutch was slipping every time you accelerated.

Yup plenty of those out there - mine was a nice clean example though that had been looked after in Japan and during my ownership - the guy I sold it to 4 years ago still has it!

Its a 1991 Jap import, Koni adjustable suspension all round, stainless steel exhaust and a few other goodies. It's not fast, but it makes a lovely noise and it's a bit like being on a bike being out in the air (sort of)

Before anyone asks, yes it did come with a free pair of scissors and hair straighteners...!

That's funny the first time you hear it, and alas, for you, that's not the first time I have heard that "joke."

I have had her for 23 months and so far no break downs, so :-p

What ones have you tried?

So far I havn't found a 156Ti in the same colour or with the wing like mine, might be the only one in the UK :-D

I got the DVD/Sat-nav in car, no sensors though...

How did you go 5 years without changing the oil or timing belt in a Twinney and not have it "die"? lol

What did you "upgrade" to?
