Ooooh more toys!!

This is my first car would you believe :D, it's a Landrover Freelander 1.8 i brought cheap as it needed work and new head gasket ect.. The usual fun stuff with these cars.. Now all that has been done and updated it's a great car and will take anything i throw at it.. It's more of a toy than a practicle car it'll be great for towing my race bike, when i get it ..

These pics are from a while back and goodies are being added all the time

nice one pete, my dad used to have a morgan - have you ever tried the +8? scary quick car for one with a chassis made of wood:shock:

my car isn't exciting enough to warrant me taking photos of it, 1.8 Focus TDCi, trucks on in all weathers, drags a pair of bikes up to trackdays without batting an eyelid and has plenty of space for everything i need it for, don't know what i'm going to do the day it has to go as there's nothing i want instead

Thank you. The colour was a one off.

It's a common misconception about Morgans. The chassis were steel. Just a lot of the bodywork was wood including the floor panels.

http://i72.photobucket.com/albums/i184/petevtwin650/Morgan/img091.jpg

My Moggie was one of the last of the 1800 Ztech engines that put out 130bhp. Couple that with narrower tyres and less weight it was pretty lively.
This is a V8 in construction.

The Micrabago, so called because it sometimes doubles as a camper-wagon on racing weekends. I don't care for cars or even like them so I bought 200 quid's worth of reliable transport that I can chuck all kinds of junk into and not care if it gets dented or scratched.

Yes, there's two Suzuki TS50Xs part dismantled in the back and I drove it 50 miles like that.

It's the luxury model with carpets, cloth seats and 'keep fit' windows that wind down with a crank handle.

I love CRX's, and that looks minty

Mine - 2001 facelift Accord Type-R, 54K on the clock, utterly standard, dyno'd at 215BHP, about right :) Corners like very few things I've driven... Bought to replace the one at the bottom that I wrote off on an icy motorway :(

you hear wrong, dear fellow,

They do meter in oil (working like a very weak 2-stroke mix) but day-2-day driving barely uses any oil, I.e. I did a tour of scotland last month, 3000miles, and she used about a litre.

1 day round brands hatch - on the other hand... 100 miles, 55litres of fuel and 2 litres (a sump) of oil :pale:

My mate's knackered old R1 did 75 miles round Rockingham earlier this year, 20 litres of fuel and 4 litres of oil. He binned it in spectacular fashion on that day, and on rebuilding it I discovered the top steering head bearing would rattle around in the headstock. He broke the bike for spares.

Aaargh, not the dreaded CTR! Tried the EP3 version, was not a fan in the slightest, I chose a Mk1 Skoda Octavia RS in place of it.

From what I gather the latest version is lacking as much as the EP3 in driving terms - missing the fully independent suspension, LSD, Recaros, DOHC motor that the DC2 ITR and ATR have. That said, I've driven various current Civics for extended periods of time, and the 2.2 Type S (diesel ) is actually a great car, seriously. Nicest oil-burner I've ever driven :)

I'd quite like to try an FD2 Civic (import only, annoyingly) to replace the ATR, but I don't like the idea of running an import. NSX here we come :smt047

Couple of cars I used to have.
This is "Wallace" (I know, but the ex wife had one the same called Gromitt). It was the only Wagon R in Europe that was lowered, Pi made them, took 6 weeks for them to arrive, but worth it. Was fitted with bucket seats & a big, dock off stereo, the 2 smaller amps were from a Bentley, came in handy living in Crewe. & the bodykit was made by me. It did get its photo in Fast cars Magazine once as well :)

Corsa ASBO. Great fun, if a wee bit chav...

am i mistaken or is that not a corsa VXR?

and i appear to have lost the pictures of my 2 cars that i have had :(

first was a B reg nissan cherry, which i got for free from me grandad (who'd had it since new) with only 27k miles on the clock. had that for nearly 2 years and put over 11k on it myself before it failed an m.o.t and wasn't worth repairing.

so scrapped that for a T reg rover 200. great car other than when i blew the head gaskett from having too much fun with it  and it always ran a bit rough after that as we think there were some bent valves in there still!! still for a 19 year old with a car that has leather seats, electric windows, roof and a cd player it wasn't bad. i was happy :d

Think every K series will suffer head gasket failure at some point! Even the newer MGs suffered from it!

They're good little runners...when working that is! I got it purely as insurance was cheap. Cheaper for me to insure the 1.6 rover than it was for a 1.0 litre micra / fiesta etc!

I had one of these once upon a time

http://www.ukcar.com/road_tests/Ford/scorpio/

2.9 litre V6 24 valve Cosworth engine

I daren't post a picture of it as it was truely the most ugly car ever built, although the Fiat Multipla comes a close second. The safest way to experience it was to sit inside

After a wedding one Saturday night, I got from the Motorway service station near Newcastle to my house in Sutton (S London) in exactly 4 hours - the petrol receipt said 8:00 pm and the midnight news had just come on the radio as I turned off the ignition. I had the cruise control working at 125 . . . :smt026

They always seem to go shortly after a coolant change for some reason.

It happened to the 216SLi I bought my ex new in '97, she ended up scrapping the car because of it earlier this year. It needed a complete new engine and radiator, but the cost outweighed what it was worth. Shame because it was a really good car until that happened.

There are usually warning signs for K-series HGF. Presumably these were not evident in this case and she had a total failure?

only difference between that and the saxo VTR is errrrrrrrr...... shock absorbers, and a limited run.

Pah the slower 1.3.....the 1.6 engine was more powerful than the VTR as well by about 15bhp ;) VTR = 90 Rallye = 105

Those 1.3 S1 saxo owner always were bitter that they couldnt keep up ;)

(Rings out Curvy V Pointy doesnt it lol)

Yes the carbed 1.4 Euro 205 Rallye with the riveted arches was always the best, why the UK got utter crap yellow and white standard 1.4 205 vans with windows I will never know.

tut you don't know your Rallye history do you?

205 rallye = 1294cc fed with twin DCOE carbs via swan neck manifold
205 Uk rallye = 205 XL 1.4, nothing special at all. (why o why Peugeot UK)
106 Rallye s1 1294cc (same lump as euro-205 but with FI) Awesomeness
106 Rallye s2 1580?cc (same lump as saxo vtr, without restrictive exhaust)

All good cars to be honest (bar the uk 205) 1300 rallye was more 'special' it was identiacal to what got rallyed in group N, but with it brought problems like headgasket failures.
Rules changed to 'super1600' hence the s2, the 1600 was a stronger lump, but was in no way affiliated with the rally scene as they used the 16v gti lumps (which europe again had in thier rallyes)

It's also been to austria on a seperate trip, done 45k miles with me and I've never had a single problem. 500 miles on a full tank of diesel, it'll shift if you're feeling kinky and it's possibly the best car iv ever had :) love it

There are usually warning signs for K-series HGF. Presumably these were not evident in this case and she had a total failure?

I'd always warned her not to drive it if the temp went the slightest bit higher than usual, but she holed the rad somehow and carried on driving it thinking the occasional top-up was all it needed. Needless to say it lasted three days of school runs before it expired in the centre of town - Engine seized solid. She can't look after cars, never washes them or hoovers them out and servicing is only done when something goes wrong. Despite the fact that she's owned some quite nice cars in the past they've all ended up looking like complete sheds after a couple of years, but god help you if you as much as think about leaving a plate unwashed on the draining board. Women are weird.

Sounds similar to what happened to mine. Engine seized solid, couldn't budge the crank at all, even with the head off, which is VERY strange!

Although I didin't have any major warning signs. The coolant needed topped up every now and then but nothing extreme. Coolant in the resevoir was clean as well, no oil mixed in etc, but once the car packed in and I checked again, it was thick with engine oil! Reminded me of a McDonalds Milkshake! Radiator fan never kicked in and temperature always seemed to be about right!

I bought a second hand engine on ebay, has the new head gasket already on it. I've been trying to do all the labour myself, with help from a mate of course as I don't know a lot about mechanics at all! Even though the engine came from a car of the same year and same model...for some reason the sump, flywheel and electrics are all slightly different which is causing head aches to say the least!

My car isn't worty of a picture in fact none of my cars have been worthy of a picture being taken.

Current cage is Ford Galaxy with quite a few dents

I thought that too - but I miss these 2 now. Cheated and found some similar pics:

VC Valiant - my old favourite. 6 cylinder slant engine. We did a lot of camping trips up and down the east coast of Oz.

what welder you got there? I'm looking at a clarke 160te mig welder :)

clarke 151te turbo mig welder, i found it great i have replaced and welded in just about every possible panel on that mini with it! I would advice though you go down to your local airproducts supplier and get a big bottle i have about a 52kg bottle of feramax and its great the small bottles run out far too quick ( and i dont think you can get feramax in the small bottles). I think i paid about £50 for the bottle rental and now it is about £10-15 a month.

not bad at all. I was looking at the 151te but the main supplier on the mig-welding.co.uk forums suggested that, for the money, I could get the 160 (same ampereage but with a proper gauge for big gas bottles) and a 5kg spool of wire for like 20 quid more :)

car history that i have pics of

had the modified car - never cared what anyone said about being that car looking to much like a "boy racer" car - i loved it, kinda wish i never sold it

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t45/nik_nunez/front.jpg

sound system - was awesome, p9 combo, focal comps, soundstream amps and subs

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t45/nik_nunez/whole.jpg

moved to RX8 PZ - loved the speed and handling and for the money an amazing car - sold due to tax being £400+ a year and getting about 15mpg - luckily sold it before petrol prices went crazy back in march this year

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t45/nik_nunez/main.jpg
