I liked ya Merc :) ........ oooh runs off fast
I got the DVD/Sat-nav in car, no sensors though...
How did you go 5 years without changing the oil or timing belt in a Twinney and not have it "die"? lol
What did you "upgrade" to?
a Bmw e90. posted a pic 2 pages ago....worth the upgrade.
I did have it serviced yearly but im a bit of a clean freak when it comes to cars / bikes.
it had 60,000 on the clock when i sold it for a measly £1500. the sensors were acosutic type which worked really well. they were flush fitted and colour matched to the car

It is not so much the car, it is the image I have of BMW drivers that no-one I meet has dispelled yet, not to cause offence, but, everyone BMW driver I have seen drives like they think they own the road and act likes *****...
I imagine they are great cars, that is why they are so popular, but, I don't like any german made cars...

It is not so much the cars, it is more the attitude that comes with them and the way they are driven by most. Shallow I know...
Also, I don't think they look very nice

I didn't say all BMW drivers do, I have seen bad Alfa drivers, but, more bad BMW drivers...

I admit diesels are not that bad, excellent fuel economy and all that, but there's just no the same feeling as a 6 pot or V8 for example. If you get chance, try an E39 M5, it's absolustely amazing. Great value for money.

I know what you mean, when I got my bike I remembered the two things I missed from owning a petrol;
1) the smell of petrol and,
2) being able to rev the nuts off it and still be going faster...
Still, like I said, if I had my choice I would have a GTV V6 with 220bhp and red leather! ha ha

No the silly speed never gave out on me, but the clutch did which stops it changing gear and also drops it into neutral at the most inconvenient times (overtaking) and so did one of the potentiators which tells the ECU which gear the box is in. Consequently I could only get into 1 3 and 5th gear...which was interesting as I didn't have reverse :)
Luckily i didn't have one of the three actuators conk out which is the silly bit of sillyspeed. £1300 each to replace :o

No they dont but they are bloody close. If you throw it up it will touch but not devastatingly...unless you are me and one of the gas struts was broken and you forget to tell the valetters and return to find no back window :) whoops

mine used to smack right into the window. reason being was the boot stuts. alfa done 2 versions. one with plastic snap on caps and one with metal caps on the end of the struts. gues what. mine had the plastic. what would happen is they would wear and next thing u know..SMACK....straight in the window.

Me too. After years of not buying BMWs because of 'that' image, I succumbed last year with an E39 5 series. Then I sold that, and regretted it for six months or so.
So I bought another:

You need to use the Lotus on the track to appreciate it!

No she has a tuned 2.0 Twinnie, she drives well more than enough power for my usage and fuel economy is in the 30s. quite a rare car and becoming more so.
I love CRX's, and that looks minty
Mine - 2001 facelift Accord Type-R, 54K on the clock, utterly standard, dyno'd at 215BHP, about right :) Corners like very few things I've driven... Bought to replace the one at the bottom that I wrote off on an icy motorway :(

Awesome car (the silver Type-R) I had that exact car but sadly sold it when I bought my flat. Miss it badly! Beware of the 5th and reverse gearbox synchro, mine went and it cost me £800!
Hi everyone!
New to the SV game, bought a curvy few days ago as first bike and lovin' it! Here is a photo of my car and bike....
The bike's a beaut, amazing condition for it's age and runs like it's new!
Can't wait to see you all at the first spring/summer meet in the south (chichester area!)

Amen to that! Far too many people on the road these days. I looked at getting a new Elan before getting the MX5, but they are holding their value really well now!

I did buy an Elan S2 and I love it.
I don't drive it on the road much but it is great for track days!!!
Here is a photo of it.
