For Brettus,
Rules are here:
http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=144708

1.Photos must be Theme related. How you interpret the theme is up to you. You might want to give a little spiel about your photo.

2) Please keep photo sizes below 1024 pixels wide or tall. No bigger.

3) 1 photo maximum per person. That means ONLY ONE. :reaper:

4) All submitted photos must be member's own work, or be a photo with yourself in the photo.

5) Photos must be genuine, If you Photoshop your entry tell us what you did (IE Crop / adjusted brightens etc).

6) No CHIT CHAT... All chit chat will be deleted without notice, End of... If you must Chit Chat do it in the Photo Comp Chat Thread (http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=145082).

7) Only one Vote Per Person Per Month. :reaper:

Closing date for the Comp will be on the 25th of the Month with voting to the last day of that Month. Any entries posted after the 25th will be discounted.

Voting will then take place on the 26th of the month until midnight end of that month - which any member can post their votes to

For Niall,

What happened to the March competition? Did Brettus forget?

March Photo Competition? http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=216041
Ticking along nicely, it got stickied by a helpful mod but other than that it's in progress :) I'll check in on it before the 25th to give final call then it'll be vote off from 25th.

I think *unless anyone has any objections* that 25th should always be the date it swaps so it is consistent. it does however mean an flexible voting period but might be more memorable than waiting for it to begin. Open to suggestions of course.

I'd take some photos for it myself but none of them here look like spring! 27c yesterday, I didn't pack sunscreen, I'm gonna be Zoidberg soon!

That wouldn't really work unless we're going to have a pre AR AR! And even at AR most people don't take a decent camera.

I don't know what the 'artist' was on when he made whatever that is. LOL
But I think one can safely assume this is a chemically inspired art work.

It's located in a tiny village that sits in a valley between two huge mountains in a remote part of the state. There are no chickens or cows within 50 miles.

Comments from people viewing it included, hideous, stupid, wtf is that?

My entry this month ticks something off my list of photos to take so thanks for choosing the subject Careless. I read an interesting piece about this place in the English Heritage magazine last year and it tweaked my interest in unusual architecture.

Thought to be the only surviving example of Parasol Canopies from the 1960's in the UK this is now a Grade II listed site. The magazine showed photos of it in the original Mobil colours but checking out the location for my visit I noted they're now in BP green, which is a shame as I think the blue was nicer.

Thank you everyone for the votes. I think it was very much a vote for the subject matter rather than the image! I had wanted to do something more artistic than a framed snap, but it was a nice day and there were kids waiting to sit on the dogs to eat their lunch. They are a very popular street art!

I've started a new thread for June - good luck everyone!

punyXpress

Don't think it was drowned, but at this ( breeding ) time of the year they will fight, to the death if necessary, for ' rights '
It'll probably stay there for ages. Our cats would never touch them, and even foxes aren't very partial.

Around here you put dead critters on your shed roof and a passing Red Kite swoops down and takes them. The wood pigeon that slammed into our patio door a couple of weeks ago and made it only as far as the bottom of the garden before settling into a dip in one of my raised veg beds quietly passed on a few hours later. I kept watch to make sure a cat/fox did not speed things up. Within two minutes of being up on the shed roof he was flying again, albeit dangling from some talons.

I'll get thinking of a theme and post a new compo thread.

Thankfully Mr LPH does not visit the forum otherwise I fear he'd be entering the competition this month with pics of me riding an ER6 in 35° in a bikini.

As it is I think it's a great theme and I'm going to have to have a good look through my photos.

Amadeus
05-07-15, 09:16 PM
That is a good one.

The only thing I can think of right now is using a batman water slide in my back garden wearing considerably less than the cossie that LPH mentioned (tho the thought of that turns my stomach purely because of the risk of road rash) so isn't suitable for the U rated forum! :-)
Will have a think.

I have been to a couple of amazing dams in Thailand but the pics are on my hd at work. Still I'm happy enough with the one already posted. Don't leave your (photographic) balls where the sun can be deflected onto something flammable.

For those of us with Canon's you can always have a go with the miniature effect filter for this months topic. Take your picture and apply the filter directly on your camera which saves it as a new image. Or find something genuinely small.
