the 1st pic i look at ont this tread and 2 of my bikes are in it.lol
the Blue and silver SV i have though it wating for a set of forks [ when a cheap pair come along ]
and the XJR i sold a couple of yrs ago but still miss.

Well, yesterday's photo shoot went a bit awry in the wind. I ended up needing a shower to get rid of the mess. Sadly the photo didn't quite turn out right, and I ran out of eggs. Back to the supermarket later for more eggs.......................... and shower gel.

lol... no, but its been hilarious.

Today I've managed, with a little helper to "explode" 9 eggs. The camera has had the iso ramped up 3200, and a shutter speed of about the same. I've 'fired' it on continuous and still managed to miss the explosion. Learned loads, thanks Anna, and had a great laugh.

Anna, maybe pictures of the camera/tripod/me & the helper too. The shot I was after was of a golf club making contact with the egg.

Lessons learned; have loads of eggs - got thro' 15 eggs, iso and shutter speed a high as poss, plastic bag over the camera/tripod, bin bag over me, don't do it on a windy day.

Shot on continuous I have loads of pictures of eggs sat on golf tees, the occasional shot of the golf club coming into picture, and loads of shots of the golf tee surrounded by bits of egg shell and yoke.

Brilliant idea, that sounds really cool! :lol:

Geek mode: a flash (or ten) sat very close to the egg would help you freeze movement because of the very short duration of the flash pulse. Of course, you'd still need a way to trigger the shot at the exact moment the club hits the egg and that's a different story, you'd probably need a motion / sound remote trigger to increase your chances of success. As a side note, check this link (http://pixsylated.com/2008/12/smashing-pumpkins-with-high-speed-sync-gang-light-part-2/), as your idea reminded me of this story!

Filipe, I had the offer of a strobe but not till next weekend. Reading the link you posted, and thinking of the club head speed generated in a golf swing, it looks like 1/6400 would have been better but then the lighting would have been even more difficult. Another problem I was getting was the buffering(?) of the memory, with the gaps between (continuous) shots getting longer.

Here is mine....called it Sand Ghouls as the patterns left in the sand as the tide went out looked like Ghouls wearing cloaks to me.

Thanks guys but i did just get lucky. That black volcanic ash/sand mixes with the yellow sand and everytime the surf comes in and goes out it leaves behind a different pattern. For once my patience paid off :)

I got 2 other pics i was happy with at that beach and both are of my lil sister in law. She gave me permission to show these here.
