Well, if you really want comfort then I'd suggest my pillion seat - however, you might find it a little boring being up the front all the time with little opportunity for 'spirited' riding.

do i wanna know what touch cup is?

joshmac
15-06-09, 07:06 PM
do i wanna know what touch cup is?
LMAO! It's nothing like what you're thinking

What you need
A pint glass (half pint might be easier)
A table
Some sort of drink that can be downed in half pints for a while. i.e not vodka!
A coin

The set-up
Sit round the table. At the start of the game, an empty pint glass is filled with a reasonable measure (about a third of a glass is adequate as you may have to do it over and over again) of drink and put in the middle of the table. Obviously with a half pint glass you'd fill it up more.

Gameplay
The aim of the game is to take it in turns to bounce the coin off of the table and into the glass. If a player succeeds then they may nominate another player to drink the contents of the glass. If a player bounces the coin and it falls off the table then they themselves must drink the contents. If the player simply misses the glass but the coin stays on the table they pass on the coin without drinking.
Sounds easy? Maybe, but there are four golden rules to remember. If a rule is broken then the penalty is to finish the contents of the cup. The rules are as follows:
1) Never touch the cup without first saying (for everybody else to hear) “touch the cup”.
2) Never put the cup down empty. Always refill it with your own drink first.
3) Never put the cup down without the coin being on the table.
4) Never accept the coin from another player – it must be picked up from the table.
Penalties can stack up and play cannot pass until all penalties have been taken.
Bonus rule: if the coin hits the rim of the glass but does not go in then players around the table have the chance to ‘challenge’ the person who last bounced the coin. If a rim challenge is made then the same player must bounce again. If they miss again then they must finish the contents of the glass. However, if they get it in then the player who challenged them must drink the contents of the glass and then the same amount again.
Also if someone gets it in the cup on 3 consecutive turns, they get to nominate a new rule. No swearing is always a killer
International drinking rules apply (e.g. no pointing)

The thumb rule is a killer too
Though if someone gets the chance to make the swearing rule it's chaos .. Say for example you were the last person to get your thumb on the table.. it's hard not a curse as a result, so that's double.
If you call challenge and then they get it in the second time.. could be a tripple.
Worst thing is when someone hits the rim 4 times in a row if you've called it and then they get it in! :drink:

I'm just gonna keep out this thread I think.. First I was talking about pillion arrangements for Paws at the AR, which Fizz said was off topic. Now I'm talking about things to do at the AR on the saturday night and I've managed to make that off topic too.
I'll take it to Facebook or MSN and just stick to the bike parts of the sight for posting.

I have to agree with Josh on this - weeks ago stupid threads like Drinking Games or Pillion Leapfrog would have been told to take it to the Mega Thread and the threads closed.

Now we are in a Mega Thread, and being told to open new threads

Can we have some consistency here please?

It is not possible to take EVERYTHING to the Megathread, it would become totally unreadable if the two topics that came up on this thread were also intermingled with what goes on in the Megathread.

These mini-megathreads may not be the answer, but forcing people off to MSN/Facebook is equally not the answer.

Ah but did it really need 6 pages of what looks like quite alot of flirting / banter and or micking taking to sort that out ?

It was more of an observation that it woudl be better if it stayed on topic rather than letting it drop away into a conversation / chat thread.

As for Saturday night, I shall be getting drunk and watching Hovis make a fool out of himself again :-)

To re-word something that I just wrote to someone else on the subject of the AR (be it AR07, AR08, AR09 or even AR10)

All I am looking for in an AR is somewhere to sleep and to meet up with a load of people from this site.

The actual ride-out itself isn't even really that important, except that on it things will happen (hopefully not bad things) that will create links between people and for memories.

I really dont care that its costing more to camp this year than last, its only a couple of quid/1 pint of a difference. That cost is worth it to be there.
What I do care about is that I will get to meet up with and spend time with friends from on here.

Thats what the AR is to me, not the Ride, but the social event.

As someone already posted - Is it time to go yet? (and not in a Scoobs way) :)

These mini-megathreads may not be the answer, but forcing people off to MSN/Facebook is equally not the answer.

SK i'm glad you brought this up.

Consistency, now thats a big word. Not being patronising here i mean its a big ask of all the Mods to try and do the same as each other.

Look at Soho for example, you know how relaxed i am in that section and almost anything goes right?

I watched the above pillion stuff myself, hell i even posted in it, wondering if the section Mod for here will be OK with it as its in a Megathread or if they will say what they did say, a simple "please keep it OT guys"
Fair request, no?

I also totally agree with you about not forcing chats onto MSN or FB, hell whats the point of a forum if you're only gonna read it and chat about it off the forum cos you feel stifled? Not good, i agree.

But back to consitancy, i guess if the chit chat in the AR Megathread is AR based and doesnt just wander off into elongated and pointless waffle then no, you shouldnt have to start new threads that will probably only get 1 or 2 answers?

but if you did perhaps they would get more responses? Who knows. Not everyone reads Megathreads, i know i dont read the IB one at all, so perhaps a new thread might actually get more responses. I honestly dont know.

Point i'm trying to make is simply that no 2 mods are gonna be the same and no one Mod has all the answers.

not even me, the greatest of all mods. Apparently. :)

He'll sleep in our tent - otherwise he'll keep the whole field awake with his crying and probably flatten our tent trying to get in :-?

He's just about tall enough that I can hold his collar with a slightly bent arm. They're not a really tall breed... just big. Great Danes and Irish Wolfhounds are quite a bit taller.

I weigh around 56kg. I know, that is shockingly light. A 14 year old girl I know weighs just a tad less and she hasn't got an ounce of fat on her!

Whoa whoa whoa! Hold your horses lads . She's 14. Family friend's daughter. I know she doesn't have an ounce of fat on her as they came round for a BBQ and a swim. Bikinis allow you to work this out ;)

I was going to say his sister or his gf, but then realised it's more probable her being both, since he is from Landan :)

First off, I'm not from London. Silly sally!
14's a bit too young for me personally, but that's just my (rather meaningless) opinion. Wierd though, I see nothing wrong with a 22 year old and an 18 year old or anything over (i.e 24 and 20). Even 24 and 30

My youngest (albeit) half sister is 28, so you're wrong again Sally  (not very good at this are ya? ;) lol)

If I don't know where someone live(where the **** is Surrey?), and they live in England, and they're a soft lightweight southern babysham drinker then theyre from London. ;)

Everyone's basically grown up 18+, but 14's still a kid in my opinion..

Meh.
If I see you, I will just sit on on, can't see you moving! :)

to be fair, the 10kg 14 year-old blind as a bat poodle we have is a lot more vicious.

That doesn't mean that the poodle is actually vicious, btw - it just means he's realised his mouth can be used for more than just licking and drooling.
