HoL

My cars road tax is £30, makes the price of bike tax seem harsh :)

andrewsmith
19-03-12, 07:57 PM
Ouch

If it goes ahead everyone that isn't a rich person is screwed. Then everyone will go lay stingers on these private roads and see how many Rolls and Toffmobiles they can write off

They will keep tax and duty the same and allow them to charge the earth to use these roads- we sell all our cars and get the bus, govt loose out
Its not well thought through as most the investors are Arab and Chinese so they won't see tax for the revenue generated.

HoL

I thought it was meant to be like the M6 toll so just alternative Toll roads as well as the current ones

Wideboy
19-03-12, 08:00 PM
never mind all that, this country's entire industry relies on haulage firms who are already feeling the pinch with the fuel prices

This government makes the Monty python lot look sensible

You know how to stop it!
Vote Labour (I feel dirty saying that) in 2015, or if enough people complained (Say 18,000,000) and forced a vote of no confidence makes ru(i)ning the country a tad harder

This isn't the Megathread I know! I'm off to put my clutch back together

they are repeatedly screwing the motorist, and giving nothing back. IIRC on the news today it showed that 81p of fuel price was VAT/duty. When i started driving that was the price of fuel! If anything, it's making me want to leave this country

Reeder

Off you go then. Leave me anything of value you can't take. Enjoy yourself. Bye now, bye bye.

They're no use to me - already have all 10 series. Excellent for watching on holiday while having wee drinkies before going out.

Anyone else take the long way home in that fantastic sunshine this evening? I've only got a one mile journey, so I accidentally turned the wrong way out of the office and had a proper blat instead.

Reeder

My normal daily trip home is 5 miles. I somehow managed to do about 30 :-P 85 miles to a tank... Ouch.

Wideboy
20-03-12, 11:11 AM
Why would I? its not a joke, its a serious statement that can help avoid confusion

Yarp.

Did too much in the gym Thursday.
Drove 130 miles and a full days graft - then when out on the lash Friday.
D.I.Y. Saturday.
Suffered Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.

Stupid boy!

Felt a right ficko phoning in to the boss saying i've done too much =D>

Geodude
21-03-12, 09:42 AM
See what happens when you do gym and diy ;) more resty less pumpy :) I have hastle with both my knees and my hands/grip (cant keep a grip on my money ;) ) so know how important it is not to over do things, but i still do.

Reeder
21-03-12, 09:44 AM
Wednesdays are yay because I have options. I can either watch the football tonight or go to the cinema for orange wednesdays. PLUS it's sunny and I'm on my bike, my boss is away and I'm going to take an extremely long lunch hour (or two) and go blitzing it around the country roads.

That, my friends, is why wednesday is yaaaaaaaay.

Trust me when I say I won't be overdoing it again.

What peed me off most is the weather Monday Tuesday was glorious and no doubt when i ride in to work Thurs fri it will be awful. :smt088

I'd love too!
I used to run miles as a youth but basically now I've had x3 operations and got arthritis, if i did i will be needing some of these.

They might help you run faster. Definitely worth a go in my professional opinion. At the end of the day it's only your legs. If you were to get them chopped off then at least you wouldn't have the pain anymore, right?

Fanks G, you're a G ood un.

Quick question, I keep getting some emulsified oil in the inspection window and in the filler lid.

I've been told it's because of condensation & not to worry but I dropped the oil last week hoping it would clear the window and it didn't.
Apart from carefully measuring the oil as i refilled, because the inspection window is pretty much useless, is there a tool for dipping to check the levels?

Well, you'd think that wouldn't you but apparently many amputees suffer from phantom limb syndrome (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phantom_limb)and as such have no limb but all of the discomfort with little they can do about it.

Reeder
21-03-12, 10:05 AM
Dont worry about that fruity, it's just a conspiracy theory designed to saved the government money and to stop everyone wanting their limbs removed for comfort reasons.
I really think there's not much to worry about and you should go running and then attack your knees with hammers. It's the only possible solution (again in my professional opinion).

Ive heard of the condensation thing before but ive no idea if there's a dipping tool sorry. Can you give the window a clean? dont know my way round gladdy's

Reeder

Law suit?! I can't possibly see why we'd need to go down that route. I thought we were friends?!
I'm assuming you have COD on the ps3? I've probably asked before but can't remember.

The best way to clean the oil sight glass is to find one of the borrowers and slowly and carefully lower him(or her) down through the oil hole bit attached to a piece of string. Be careful though as it's a small hole even for a borrower and there's every chance that they could be severly injured. It's a big risk to take but they're pretty useless to us other than for things like this, so it's a potential sacrafice that wouldn't be frowned upon. Good luck and let me know how it goes. Remember to take pictures of the entire operation.
