Every part of the MOT is at the testers discretion. I used to get an MOT done at a place where the only requirement was that the bike could drive into the workshop, stop, and had a horn that worked.

But the test states that it will fail if "Any part of the exhaust system missing or excessively deteriorated" or there is "a leak in the exhaust system which causes excessive noise to be emitted". My simple advice, if you think it might fail fix the problem.

And for reference the MOT Manual.

My thou ran quite rough when the rear collector gasket failed. It's not a big job to do at all. Worst bit on the thou was you had to remove the side stand bracket to get the collector down, but this is probably ok on the 650. I got away with re-using the front header gasket. Rear collector gasket for mine was about £10.

ordered a new gasket for .....£2.70 lol inc P&P on ebay the front leaks a bit but i do like the lick of flames it puts out the back

Header gasket or collector gasket ? If collector, where from because they fail regular on the thou ?
