If that means you've got a 600 you're throwing in the bin, I need another bike for work
Oh right, I see what you meant ](*,)sorry
I thought you were going to throw me in a bin if I'd bought a 600.
I want to keep either the Deauville or the ZX6r as a winter hack, and pretty much all commuting. The Zx6 is running & quite enjoyable - so it's favourite at the moment :D
Can I interest sir in a nice SV? :sunny:

Have you looked on your driveway lately?
Might as well make use of the van while I had it :-dd
Rode my new bike yesterday - only in the driveway. still not insured. Only got up to 2 or 3000 revs - was scarily powerful  8-[

You've used another tank of fuel just revving it in the driveway and grinning haven't you!
Well I've got the shift light set just the way i want it.
I've changed the horn to a Fiamm.
Put first aid kit & Puncture repair kit under the seat, had a look in the tool kit. Oooh it's got a spark plug spanner like the SV. bt apparently you have to remove part of the frame to change the spark plugs so it probably won't get used
Yes I'm getting very impatient.
Parked a dishwasher behind it so I'll stop taking it out & fiddling with it.

You've got the shift light just right within the confines of your garage area...flavour of the month with the neighbours i bet :p
Nah ;) you just have to push buttons, not actually rev it to adjust it.
It's set at 90mph in first  So not sure I'll actually ever see it

Anyone know where the best place is to park a bike if visiting Festival Place in Basingstoke? I know there are a million car parks but which has a decent very visible bike park? I don't want to park in in a dark corner for some scrote to mess with it.

Stuck it on the big open area outside Debenhams by Central car park by the cycle parking hoops. Was a "well worn" 52 Blue Curvy S already parked there. Anyone we know?
If anyone is interested, the official word from the council is....
Free parking is available for motorcycles in designated areas at:
Alencon Link car park,
Joices Yard car park,
Church Street,
on the paved area adjacent to the entrance to Central car park
So not sure I'll actually ever see it

Missed your original post.
For what it's worth, I'd probably park it opposite the church, adjacent to M&S down the slope. That way you can totally avoid the one way system.
My office is next to the Anvil with a secure underground carpark, so I usually park there.

Commenced project SV today. Broken clutch lever replaced and cable adjusted so it doesn't bite right at the bar.
Ditched the standard rear end ballast for the Fuel oval I had in the loft from my last SV...did you know that the standard can weighs in at 8.6 kilos?!

Unfortunately, a laptop deciding to conk out, combined with a reminder of my non-contribution to this year's holiday fund meant that the ZRX budget suddenly transformed into an SV budget!

I'd gladly buy a top box in London drive it to south Wales and dump it in a bin.

Look you lot. :smt071
I'm only getting one because a certain person said we could go to France on the bikes if I had hard luggage that we could leave 2 lids in
Potential ride-out warning.
If a few things sort themselves out then I may get a pass to go for a ride over the weekend. Only a couple of hours and in the morning and with little notice so probably scoring pretty low with everyone so-far.
If it goes ahead will start/end in Fleet, be a fairly technical twisty route with a view to being home by lunchtime. I'll whack a post in here Friday evening if anyone is interested.
Consider yourself notified!

Cool. Looks like the GM meet's 'plus one' slot has been filled!
On top of the hardcore three, plus one guest slots so far have included dirtydog and Furry Ginger one - you two will have to turn up as a couple if you ever want to come again. Can't be doing odd numbers, it really upsets the balance of the universe...or means that someone doesn't have a pie buddy and has to eat 2 dinners :D

Hope it wasn't at Brands on 7th I could have come along.
Well at least that makes more sense you doing a trackday there on the 27th
So you're racing an R1 sounds fast 8-[ so what are the regulations? anything to slow it down or keep it cheap? So have you got sponsorship for your tyres? :???: anything else?
Cool, so it sounds like trackdays, but competitive. How would you say it compares on cost and time on track?

Where abouts? Nade and I did Brittany last year, glorious weather & roads.
Two vital tips...
I reccomend a satnav as the roads out there change names without warning (mind you I'm not so good with the french reading, or speaking for that matter!)
&
Sundays everything is shut. inc petrol so avoid 400mile journeys on sundays!

did you get wet?
did you get wet?
Well......... Given the massive response from the massive I thought I'd go the long way round to get a new rear tyre then go for a bit of a ride to get them scrubbed in. So off I went. Nice new rear tyre just as he's doing the card it goes very dark and we get massive hail. Then rain then some more hail. So I stopped for a bit of a chat about bikes and let the storm pass.
So riding home the winding way it suddenly goes very dark again and I hit the same hail/rain/hail combo as before.
If you ever want to ensure you are well focussed when riding, try brand new tyres in hail. Bit like trying to ride on butter!
I can report that so-far my new Uvex waterproof trousers are waterproof :)

I was still asleep at 11am, i was waiting in for a parcel anyway. (which amazingly arrived on the day they said it would!)
I was midway thru a 16k service, try checking valve clearances in rain & hail... not impressed.
Newlands Corner tonight - Guildford Astrological Society are showing off their telescopes. You can go & see the stars! Should be a good night for it
