Playing video games is a must on a day off!! I'm loving the 360 at the mo.
Good luck for your appointment as well.

I also need to get new chain and sprockets fitted on Saturday. ?150 fitted.
So this month has been expensive for my little bike:
24k Service ?250
New front discs ?350
New tyres ?225
Insurance ?150
Chain/Sprockets ?150.
Ouch.
Looks like the DRZ will have to wait. :smt101

What you playing Cat?
I'm mostly playing Halo 3. Still.
I don't fancy those USB stick solutions Stu. The download speeds are very low and also most want a 24 month contract out of you. That to me screams 'unreliable service'. Also Max bandwidth of only 7.2Mbits and download limits of 3GB. I probably download 3GB a week.
All sorts at the moment. Lee bought the console with his mate a while ago, but as he's (the mate) moved country I bought his half and just started getting into it. I never realised how much fun video games can be! Lee has started me off with a Pirates of the Caribbean game and we have the new Ping Pong game which sounds a bit lame, but it's really good fun! We have full on tournaments with each other and the loser has to wash up or make dinner etc. Hehe!
Lee has Rainbow Six Vegas, Just Cause and Ghost Recon which he plays when i'm gyming etc. The 360 rocks!!

Yep, 17" screen, nice design, but I should get a cheap boring grey laptop that does all the basic stuff I actually need it to do, instead of wasting £1.5-2k from the proceeds of my SV sale on it. Luckily I haven't got the cash to impulse buy and I refuse to buy expensive stuff on finance/credit card (apart from my scuffed Yoshi 15 months back)

The SV isn't needed cos I don't feel like it's got enough grip on the road therefore becoming quite dangerous if I go into corners fast as I don't want to lean or brake hard.
Ok, that's an excuse, the real reason why I'm selling it is cos it's scuffed, and I'm a perfectionist! I can't be bothered to throw lots of money at it to repair it again when I've got my eye on something else. It's better to get rid now when my insurance runs out so I don't have to look at the scuffyness of the bike much longer. :)
Not giving up on biking, Just a small gap between selling and buying another (mint condition) bike and then I'll be polishing it faster than everyone else on their bikes. :D

I'm failry sure the laws of physics get in the way. If you get something super-light with amazing suspension, bionic brakes and scalpal like geometry all that does is enable you to lean more, brake harder and later and generally do more of the kind of thing you want to avoid but in a more expensive package. Moreover you'll now be entering the bend 20-30 mph faster to needing more brakes/lean/magic.
Apart from the scuffs disappearing, I'm not seeing what you're going to get out of a more capable bike if you're not keen on the whole cornering, braking thing.
However buying a new bike is great fun so enjoy all the test rides. I've got a test ride booked on a 1098 soon. Got to luv them V-twins.

Today, I am stressed. I woke up in a bad mood. No real reason. A car nearly hit me on the way to work as he'd jumped a red light. So I beeped to avoid him hitting me and then he stuck up his fingers. I lost it. I destroyed his driver side rear view mirror. I don't know why I just lost it. Usually it never bothers me and I really don't agree with bikers that do this sort of thing. Anyhoo, that was that. I spent the rest of the journey feeling bad about it. Then I went to fill up with fuel on Twickenham road and he would not turn on the pump. So I went into the Gargage (I had already removed my helmet). He asked to to pay before filling up. This really threw me back. I barked "Why?" which may have given him the impression I was a bit dodgy. I have to admit that I was seething by this point, my eyes probably looked a bit wild and my new shaved head probably did not help the situation. He then rambled something I could not understand, he was Indian or Pakistani and I simply did not understand him. FFS, why are people working in this country that can barely string a comprehensible sentence together?? All I could understand in the end was that he wanted me to tell him how much I want to fill up. Again, I lost it. How the hell do I know exaclty how much I need to put in before I've filled up???
So, how was your morning?

That's a new one to me.
You should have put the pump in the bike, with it locked on, and then sparked up a cigarrette. As it starts to overflow, you wait until the fuel is lapping at the building the attendant is in. You then toss the aforementioned cigarette and the place goes up like the 4th July.
It least thats what would happen in a movie. :p
Did you give in and pay then?

The only problem with play is htat you very rarely get teh game on release day. With Game you do. That being said Game have shafter me one too many times now so they can feck off. I'll probably walk round to Blockbusters and pick it up, read the review, they said it was good but not great.

How can the first one be better? This one has better graphics and the gameplay has improved. With all the new modes/wepaons etc its a massive leap forward.
I also think they have worked harder to create better maps. In the first one they all seemed a bit similar and you could tell they had reused bits. Now they're all really different and there are a lot more levels/floors.
I particularly love the new points system. You get rewarded for making harder/better shots. Thats really cool as it sorts the wheat from the chaff.
Of course you're welcome to prefer the inferior version. ;)

Good graphics do not make a good game. But here are my points as to why I think RSV1 was better. The story was much stronger for starters. The gameplay has not really chnged all that much bar the cover and shoot feature which in all honest, makes little difference. The AI in the 1st game was heaps better, I noticed also that this games has exactly the same musical score. Maybe not a huge deal but it does make a difference. The 1st game was just a much more cohesive storyline and the Lone Wolf part of the story was awesome. I've not finished RSV2 yet but so far I'm not blown away. But, as long as you enjoy it who cares. As for online play the points system is pretty good though but I rarely go online so perhaps that is why you like it more. All in all, every review I've read rates it as inferior to the original but you go ahead and enjoy your new fangled game. I'm old skool baby!! :D

The AI was better in the first one! :o
You really need to play on realistic(if you're not already) and to get online. The AI are definitely smarter. They also sprint around so they're not sitting ducks. They blind fire/use grenades a lot more effectively as well. They also have a nasty habit of flanking you. :)
I think as a single player game R62 is good, but not amazing, however its really all about xbox live IMO.

Oh yes. Not sure when though. The instructor told me to stay away from DRZ' as they are heavy. He said the best thing to start with would be a Yam WR 250. Had a look about and they are a few grand so will need to see if I can get one later this year.
WR250 are great - expensive but hold their value well. Late 90s Honda 250 strokers are cheap but kickstarts... I prefer something with electric start myself. KTM EXC 400 are also good if you can find one - they dont make them anymore. More weight means you will also get fitter quicker... :)

I wouldn't worry about the weight of a DRZ. It's a personal choice thing like everything with bikes but I'm not a huge person at all and the weight on my DRZ is not an issue at all, it's not much heavier than Grant's KTM.
Plus they're cheap and bullet proof!
I wouldn't mind a go on yours Lee to see how it feels with the weight etc. Cheers for the offer. Mind you I don't fancy being a pillion on an offroad day! :D

No worries mate, we can meet up at some point and you can take it down a lane and see what you think.
Should I say at this point that I rode all the lanes as fast as I could and fell off 20+ times..........no, perhaps I'll keep quiet! :p

Sounds like you too have a talent Dan.
My best was on tarmac - touching the front brake whilst slowing down to do a U-turn. The front went and whilst dropping the bike I did the did the one legged hop sideways (about 4 times) before belly flopping into a pothole full of water - The only one in the area and well away from the bike...

Yep, those deep ruts just get me everytime. My mate who did the off road day with me was boasting how he only fell off once but then he spent most of the time sat on the seat with both legs out to the side and riding really slowly, the big nancy. On the pegs and quick as you dare is the way to go! I just loved spinning the back wheel. I was going everywhere giving a huge handful of gas. Hence the crashing I guess.........it's so addictive. :D Even managed a couple of big air moments which were awesome.
When you guys got out how often do you fall off and how long do you go out for?
Have you guys managed to meet up since I last saw you?
I normally get caught out in the ruts too, normally loose my balance and keel over. I managed it a few times yesterday. For me its all part of the fun, although my mate stayed on the whole time...
Normally out for the day leave home around 9 back before around 4.

And when in the ruts are you on the pegs or the seat with legs out?
I vote pegs and perhaps a little less gas next time for me!
Pegs are good whenever it gets dodgy...

In which case, I rule. Except when I fall off.
Which was most of the time......
Oh dear.
Yes. But only if they contain burger, egg, beetroot, cheese and onion and a slice of pineapple...

No - its all fat
Its the NZ national burger - referred to as a Kiwi Burger - although the pineapple is my own inclusion.
Minced beef, red & white onion, garlic, mustard, egg, mustard seeds, mustard, fresh chilli, cumin seeds. Served with fresh buns, caramelised onions and seasoned curly fries...
God I'm hungry now.
called...The Mustard Buger??

The Newlands burger lady was quite nice indeed. Burgers were nice too, baps nice and firm yet soft to the touch. I think I'd best stop.
