never tried that. good idea.

i listen to my mp3 player when i'm running so i can pretend that there is no-one else around and so i can't hear what people say at me

.... i ate LOADS of lunch.....

Me too, on the basis of "food shopping is even more costly when you're hungry"

So I eats me sandwiches, eats me crisps, and then has 2 pints of water. Off I go.....

Comes back with a boot full of stuff, more "office food" than you can shake a stick at, and £70 lighter!

Grr.

I think I've got a high metabolism.

Everyone else claims I have some kind of tapeworm. Since when has being hungry been a crime?!

fatty!

As everyone is divulging their shopping habits

I walked into town yesterday (won't try that again) and got myself

Bullet For My Valentine album
Zen Stone Plus player
Foxes Double chocolate Viennese biscuits
Bike mag (really sexy Italian naked Fireblade inside)

my last shopping trip was to sainsburys and was much quicker than usual. think it was because i got a basket and got a big bag of potatoes at the beginning so the basket was really heavy and uncomfortable to carry so i didn't bother wandering down half of the aisles.

sarah

i had curry for lunch then stole a chocolate bar and ate it

You're going about it all wrong!

Starve yourself, eventually the stomach shrinks and you don't feel hungry anymore. When you do eat, you can't eat much cos your stomach's smaller...

Shame on you hiding from her, I thought you were bigger than that.

Without headphones, I walk past Godalmings Big Issue man that much he now asks how I am and occasionally tells me he is well too.

After 3 years of me smiling politely and shaking my head he knows all too well that there is more chance of me buying something from "Felicity Hat Hire" than buying one of his mags.

Very true but I still think it looks butt ugly much like a multipla but aren't many bikes are individual, you make the bike your own. Distinctive, I can tell the difference between different years of bikes let alone different models and you instantly know when you see it, I think many can say this.

I think they should make it certainly, just not a fan of it

Do you come from a family of smaller people? Or are you a one-off?

I was in a rush to get to the bank.

I got locked in Barclays yesterday (it was closing). When I got to the door I jokingly said "Can you let me out?" to which she replied "No, we can stay here all night".

I gave her an odd look and she just went bright red and opened it, freeing me back onto the streets.

I laughed more when I was outside.

Munter

Can also be used as a verb, see example.

"She's a bit of a munter. She munts for England. She's so ugly, she'd get gold everytime if munting was an Olympic sport."

Perhaps too serious a question for this thread, but here goes......

I have bicycles (9), cars (2) and a motorcycle (currently 1) and have noticed the same symptom in each case.

I'm conscious of the importance of tyre pressures and keep them about right most of the time. For the vehicles that get used a lot, they rarely drop. However when parked up for an extended period (>1 month) they drop.

Why?

As an asside, this phenomenon does not seem to impact the spare tyre in the car boot so much.

PS. Bike count ammounts to..
Good road bike, Winter road bike, spare/guest road bike, Mountain bike, Station bike, Mrs. Road bike, Mrs.Touring bike, Mrs. Mountain bike, Tandem. + various kids bikes which now seem to breed exponentially but mostly have solid tyres which do not go flat. Used to have a unicycle too but sobered up between buying it and ever considering using it. and if ever you get the chance, have a go on a racing tandem tricycle you don't half get some funny looks.

falc
07-03-08, 09:39 AM
A far too serious question I fear Mark :D

Well the tyres on the vehicle are under load all the time and are always exposed to the elements. Why the spare tyre will be under no load and at least kept out of harms way in the boot.

The temperature affects the pressure of the tyre...found this snippet...

Experts at tyre firm Goodyear insist that pressure typically goes down one to two pounds for every ten degrees Fahrenheit (F) drop in temperature.

Also the tyre is not a complete vacuum much like a tennis ball etc. the molecules escape after time due to the load on it and constant bumps/contact. So again this supports why the spare tyre is mostly unaffected.

I vote sliced, then boiled, then immediately shallow fried to crisp the outside after being dusted in mild curry powder.

Been there. On a cut at the moment, can see upper abs a bit now. Hopefully see lower ones soon then I can start eating properly again :)

I'm on the bulking phase at the moment so will gain a little fat.

Meal 1 07:30: 2 poached eggs on wholemeal toast. Glass of OJ.

Meal 2 11:30 1x tin of tuna plus 4 Ryvita and some light mayo and sweetcorn. Some flapjack for energy. :)

Meal 3 14:30 post workout protein shake plus banana.

Meal 4 17:30 Tin of tuna plus red peppers and sweetcorn.

Meal 5 20:30 Dinner. Jacket with tuna or Chicken with rice etc.

Meal 6 23:30 Oatmeal and protein shake.

Ah so that's 6 meals not 8. I will usually shove another protein shake in there at about 4 in the afternoon with some more fruit.

EDIT: I forgot to add 10 cups of tea each day! :o)

You could do with getting more healthy fats and some more carbs in there mate, there's pretty much zip all energy in tuna. I'd also double the size of your breakfast! :)

I don't think I could eat 4 eggs in the morning. Perhaps I could take a protein shake too.

No more carbs thanks. I want lean proteins only. I have a strange body that seems to put on lean muscle with very little carb intake. I'm a freak, what can I say.

I take flaxseed oil for my daily healthy fats. I was hoping that would be enough.

Fair enough, I eat about double that when I bulk :)

Fortunately, I don't tend to add much bodyfat, but I tend to eat along these lines:

Meal 1: 4 whole large eggs, 2 slices wholemeal toast
Meal 2: 1->2 Chicken breast(s) with wholemeal pasta & salad
Meal 3: Tin of tuna with large baked potato / baked sweet potato + salad
Meal 4: Nuts, protein shake & fruit
Meal 5: Mashed sweet potato, small steak, green veg
Meal 6: Couple of boiled eggs, protein shake

Drink lots of water (circa 3 litres), throughout the day + take fish oils, multi vit etc.

On training days I have another shake.

Wowee that's alotta carbs. I guess I am not bulking all that much then. Hmm. Perhaps I will try your diet for 4 weeks and see how I get on. The good thing about my diet is that there is not much need for cardio. 3 times a week 30mins a session is enough for me. My lower abs have escaped me though. I have not trained for the last 3 weeks due to living at the in laws (so diet went out the window, every meal has 3 pudding courses!) and a chest infection 2 weeks back. Still, back on it now. Got a holiday in turkey and I want to be beefcake again for that in June.

Dan you don't actually need indies but you do need a brake light and numberplate

Coolio.

Thanks guys.

Adam, I may have some bathroom work for you if you are free at some point? I need a bath side cover to be made for our flat. It's only got a peice of board on it at the moment. Also, how hard is it to drill into tiles without breaking them?

I'm hardly ever free, i normally charge for my services :smt045;)

It's pretty easy to drill through tiles just use the appropriate sized tile drill bit, you can use a masonary bit but i prefer to use the proper tool for the job

Yeah they have plates although 2 bikes broke theirs off. No indicators - they tend to break off too. Brake light and headlight is fine.
Daylight MOT means no lights allowed I think :???:

Yeh I am sure you are correct. I think most people just do a normal MOT and then take the indies off so they dont break off. The brake light and head light come in handy on the road - from a safety perspective.

Well we would pay you of course! I know you say it's pretty easy but me and DIY never go hand in hand. I'll only lose my rag and smash everything with a hammer.:rolleyes:

I've always thought that you have to have a brakelight for a daylight mot

Yep

In that case DON'T DIY! A lot of work i've been doing just recently has been peoples DIY gone wrong and it ends up costing more to put right then it would've done for me to do it in the first place! Let me know what you want done and i'll sort it for you

http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=89627&highlight=gsxr see first post MOT done & then brake light added - Daylight MOT specifically prohibits any lights

Yep

Morning/afternoon all.

Wassup?

I'm busy at work today. Covering for a colleague but I've got the next 2 days off. Got a medical appointment tomorrow (to do with my bike accident last Sept) and also getting a phone line installed on Friday to our new flat so I have to sit in all bleedin' day. Still, gives me a chance to get on the 360/PS3 and PC. Or perhaps some unpacking.........naaaah!

Mobile phones & mobile Broadband? How much is installation?

What you playing Cat?

I'm mostly playing Halo 3. Still.

I don't fancy those USB stick solutions Stu. The download speeds are very low and also most want a 24 month contract out of you. That to me screams 'unreliable service'. Also Max bandwidth of only 7.2Mbits and download limits of 3GB. I probably download 3GB a week.
