Been to Cheddleton Station today on the Churnet Valley Railway. You can travel on the trains all day for £12. We didn't today, but will be when the weather gets a little better.

Beats the scary/angry feeling I get when my current car goes into 'limp mode', which is too expensive to fix as its also 15 years old. Its done us proud, but its just got too annoying. So this will do, and we don't do the big family holiday trips with buggy etc.

This one only cost £850 :-)

Nice looking car. I did the same thing last year. I bought this. 1 owner, 36000 miles £450. I don't want the latest gizmos, I just want to get from A to B & this does the job as well as a Bentley, or a Mercedes, just not as plush :)

Picked this lot up for the bargain price of £80. Canon 500d, couple of lenses, battery grip, 3 batteries, bag etc. Thinking of giving it to the wife. She's currently using the 450d. I was only after the 18 - 55 kit lens, so camera is surplus to requirements really.

Mine was off Shpock. I did say to the lad that I bought it off that it was cheap. He'd had bids as low as £40! People do try it on sometimes.

Out of interest, why were you after the 18-55?
I'm a bit of a tight bum & the smallest lens I had was a 28 - 80. I do use a wide angle adaptor because buying expensive lenses for certain jobs is way out of my reach. I mainly shoot motorsports, so smaller lenses are for when I'm out & about walking.

My pond is full of frog spawn as well, so maybe not that early?

Note: I'm not putting up a picture of it this year as my pond badly needs a good clear out of leaves and overgrown/potbound plants and is a mess. The frogs clearly don't care and it's on my list for the autumn.

Our frogs quite happily live in a bucket full of rainwater that I've never emptied, it's resting up against the shed, where they live under in winter. Ones quite big, as he must snack on all the slugs.

Any weather, any season, I don't know exactly what it is, but I always find the scenery in Wales to be so beautiful and so compelling.

Thanks fellers. We had a cracking ride in good weather, topped off with coffee and a large slab of cake in the cafe.

Cake is always good during or at the end of a ride. Tea for me, don't like coffee burps when I'm slogging up the hills :-)

Just water for me Mav if it's during a ride. Save the coffee and cake for the end!

No idea why the building is crooked, settlement maybe. As for the red door. Telephone exchanges often had doors like this to hoist up equipment.

Been to my favourite Tuesday haunt today, good old Oulton Park. There was a packed pitlane today, best so far.

This guy certainly has more money than sense. He followed me into the race circuit in this :).

Clare you need to clean your shoes a bit more often (I assume you used your own collection for that shot).

Nice bit of sun for your day out John.

Ha, the point was that dirty shoes, flip flops, sneakers, baseball boots etc. aren't permitted in the Pavilion. So I used mine (a one off pair designed by a Thai artist complete with zombies) and Stuart's flip flops and tatty old Vans.

I'm a happy bunny. Now my new home tower PC is up and running I have treated myself to a copy of Lightroom 6. Up to now I have been using Canon Photo Pro that came with my 700D which was OK but does not have the flexibility of LR so hopefully when I get out there in the nicer weather I will have better results to show for it.

As a test I re-did a shot from earlier this year. The extra details it has brought out in the paintwork and windows is noticeable and I was able to dodge a slight over exposure in one spot. I'm going to enjoy getting to grips with this I'm sure :) :compress: :smt048

I've never been able to get the hang of Lightroom. But I have the full version of Photoshop so tend to just use that.

My pic today has no image manipulation and was taken on my S5.

Been to Chester Zoo today for the 1st time in about 25 years. I know that they do a brilliant job with conservation, but I do feel so sorry for the animals being couped up in the pens when they should be out in their native lands. The human race has a lot to answer for.
