Interesting sky t'other night. Could do with some trickery to bring out the colours.

I've been playing with the radio remote that my son bought me. It gets you a little closer to the target without buying all that expensive glass :)

Great pics John!
Especially like that third shot.
Well done!
Sorry, I just thought it was too good not to share.
I didn't see it but if it was that good surely you can find somewhere to re-post it.

Repost in the megareeder thread or idle banter Matt, it was an interesting shot, but not one of yours, which is against the spirit of this thread.

Yes. I posted a photo of it a few days back in this thread. Cheap as chips from Amazon.
Thanks all for the comments.
Got a useful pressies today. A wireless remote for the camera. I don't think it was particularly expensive from Amazon.
It will let me get a bit closer to the birds in the garden.

One for Brettus.
I'm back working again, this time at a large brand new office in Milton Keynes. In prime position in the carpark, right by one of the entrance doors, are seven bays with charge points for electric cars. There are usually two e-Golfs plugged in when I wander past at lunchtime.

I was at an Ashes book launch tonight at The Times Newspaper headquarters near London Bridge right next to The Shard. Drinks on the 17th floor as the sun set. These are just on my phone. I know I often say it but I do love some of the perks and people my job brings, and I turned down a big dinner at Lord's tonight with members of the England team because I knew the views from the new Times building would be worth it and I wasn't disappointed.

Wow you lot HAVE been busy!
John, those bird shots are pretty epic! Birds creep me out somehow but the photos are so good, nice use of technology :-)
Sir_Trev, liking the golf-e, might've been a contender for me if it'd have been out a little sooner. Posh plate on it too!
LPH, very nice views, I'm always jealous of good vantage points. Weather hasn't been very conducive while we've been here but some nice cliff top views and such.
I've not got Richie's portrait skills, there are some seafarers who'd make good subjects though!

Today I was looking after Cook and Broad with Hardys wine, a main sponsor (and a very nice one as they always say thank you with a good bottle or two).
But what I most enjoyed photographing today were a team who trained hard to be champions, who put in the effort and it paid off. These are the winning runs being scored in the Lord's Taverners National Table Cricket Finals, a game especially adapted for disabled children using mini bats and balls and table tennis tables. It's always great fun and very competitive. I was only there 10 minutes but by chance the Taverners own photographer missed the winning shot of the final and I got it so they are using mine to send out with the press release as I was more than happy to grant them free usage.

Very cool shots Richie! Liked BPs flower too, something different.
I've got a very mundane one, as we left early this morning decided to head into York for some breakfast. Parked 200 yards from this:

Had an excellent breakfast in Betty's Tea Shop
http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/06/27/bf7637e7472c02b63d8cab5f8c9192d6.jpg
wandered round to the shambles bought some funky clothes then back 3 hrs later to fully charged car and next stop Birch Services on the M62!
I've even found a cheese I like (never got the taste for it but rather like this one)

What a busy day, really good to make the return journey something to enjoy though rather than just a dash back to normality.

Nothing amazing, but my weekend has consisted of bottle feeding two of the smallest kittens you'll of ever seen, every two hours since Thursday morning, to ensure a healthy future.
Seriously lost myself some man points and sleep this weekend! She gave birth to 4 on Thursday morning, 2 already dead and she was a very terrified mum with no clue what the hell was happening. After numerous visits to the vets, the what was thought to be dead kitten (black one) is now making a very promising climb in weight and movement.
Have a look....

Looks like we'll be having a 'Dewberry Cobbler' soon!
(Dewberrys in the US are sweet berrys closely kin to the Blackberry)
They out in abundance this year along the back corner of my garden.
These will turn black and ripen within a week os so.

Blackberries ferment very well. Supping last years harvest of park blackberries of an evening. A very respectable red wine. Even the mrs likes it.

I've been outside in the drive working on the bike. It's taken me most of the day and whilst clearing up I noticed these two buttons next to the tool box. No idea where the came from and not off the boiler suit I was wearing.
I'm wondering if they were left by birds. A couple of weeks ago I rescued a baby jackdaw from behind our gas fire and released it in the front garden where it was immediately met by its parent.
Feel free to call me potty but I have heard of stories like this especially relating to the crow family.

Not been on here for a while, just catching up through some great shots, but I think this just became my new background for the office (as long as there is no objections), better than any of the professional shots I've seen we have of it!
:D awesome shots
Thanks! Crack on.

The wife and I went to Hampton Court yesterday, not the one you're thinking of, this is just south of Leominster in Hereford. Very pleasant and some interesting sculptures.

That Pied Piper looks bit creepy! Really like the aged wood on the summer house rising from the water feature though.
All the sculptures were a bit creepy. Not sure what the half man half donkey was all about. Also the queen cutting her wrists.

Really like that second shot John! All good but that one stands out for me.
Sculptures are creepy as it that is the artists impression.

That's not far from where I grew up. It's a lovely place, owned by some right plonkers over the years. It stopped being open to the public for a while too.
Mrs BP and I will be picnicing on the lawns with champagne and delightful amuse bouche this summer.
Pete;)

Possibly from a Midsummer Nights Dream?
Possibly from a Midsummer Nights Dream?
Maybe. I've never read that. I'll do some googling.
Possibly from a Midsummer Nights Dream?
Yep. That's it. The character is bottom, whom I'd heard of but didn't associate the asses head. Here's more info
Nick Bottom*-* The overconfident weaver chosen to play Pyramus in the craftsmen’s play for Theseus’s marriage celebration. Bottom is full of advice and self-confidence but frequently makes silly mistakes and misuses language. His simultaneous nonchalance about the beautiful Titania’s sudden love for him and unawareness of the fact that Puck has transformed his head into that of an ass mark the pinnacle of his foolish arrogance

Worth going to see the play if you can find a good production somewhere. It's both funny and quite surreal.

Yes, I'm curious now.
How about some soft sculpture,I took these in Horncastle last week end, knitted covers over the bollards on the High Street, and knitted bunting over the Tesco Bridge, different if nothing else!!!

I was listening to. Damon Albarn's solo album this morning while the rain was hammering down and the song Hollow Ponds came on. I knew they were in Epping Forest near where he grew up before he moved out to near my home in Essex but I had never been there. So I programmed a good route into the sat nav and when the sun came out we rode out there. It's actually a rather lovely spot. Tranquil but in the heart of the city with a boating lake and lots of water fowl.

Today was an emotional day, my youngest, Jack, is leaving primary school in two weeks. Today was the last summer fun day at his school and we managed a decent send off courtesy of Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue. This is us 100 feet up in the air! And yes, he's only eleven and yes, he's going to be taller than me.

That has great potential. It just needs a tweak in Photoshop to boost the levels and bring out those colours.

Slight cheat. I took this yesterday.
My son scored 30 runs for the school cricket team. He was very pleased. The other team got to the last over and needed just 1 more run.
Disappointed son - he then bowled a wide. :-(. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/07/07/dd6d1dacc58f5fc6a1b5d7e03a67b267.jpg

Well done to him though! I used to watch Alastair Cook play when he was a teenager and I worked for Essex. Look where he ended up. And cricket is hard to shoot, unpredictable ball, fast moving bat, fielders getting in the way, lots of light bouncing off the white clothing against a dark backdrop.
